More Evidence of Blatant Botting in Rated Solo Shuffle

Hey all,

I am making this post to draw much needed attention to how widespread and rampant the botting problem in rated solo shuffle (and pvp generally) is

For context, I had just watched Supatease’s video https://youtu.be/_C6pXMGIlBo exposing a Demon Hunter bot before my solo shuffle popped this morning. In his video, he demonstrated a litmus test of sorts that would result in the bot running directly into the wall on Black Rook Hold arena. Serendipitously, my shuffle popped and took me to Black Rook Hold at 2.1 MMR. At around the third round I noticed the Demon Hunter (Keepgoings-Proudmoore) exhibiting some peculiar behavior (e.g. Melding cc, darkness at 50% invariably, never trinketing dispellable CC, swapping instantly on defensives, and otherwise playing nearly flawlessly). Thought I’d try out this litmus test demonstrated in Supatease’s video and lo and behold, the Demon Hunter displayed the EXACT same behavior; we got him stuck on the wall for rounds 5 and 6. I will link my clip below at the time stamp where this occurs in round 5. Feel free to start from the beginning to witness some of the aforementioned peculiar behavior.

I know many players have already jumped ship due to PvP (in)balance this patch. If this botting issue continues to go unchecked, more players will quit playing and PvP will have lost what little competitive integrity it has left.

I wonder if theres people controlling the bot or if it’s just straight up automated like the gathering bots. Because if someone was controlling it, they could just turn it off right and then go in the room and then turn it back on?

Nice vid. Also concerning how many of these wouldn’t be noticed if the player simply decided to move their own character.

amazes me how a bot can still manage to go 4 rounds simply because its on a dh lol.

Yeah the DH is essentially super bot friendly since it’s best spec that just “gyrates” damage without having to really do much lol.

It’s amazing how someone who is claiming to ran into a bot brings evidence and no one trolls him. Good job op, I hope you reported it.

Yea, that’s a big piece of the bad design these days. Not that the bots and scripts haven’t gotten much better, but the game lends itself to being good for botting.

Awhile back ago people were posting bot videos where the bot controlled ability usage, but the player was controlling movement. These more recent vids are FULLY automated bots.

There is probably a toggle in the bot program to allow the player to have control of movement or not. In the past they probably wanted to control movement so it was not so obvious it was a bot. But now that they realize that Blizzard either won’t do anything or will be ridiculously slow to do anything they just go full automation.

That is my guess anyway.

So, no one is even there to monitor it? It’s baffling.

His shuffle rating gain is interesting. Ping ponged and struggled between 1900-2k from March 1st to 4th. Then March 4-6 climbed to above Duelist from 1887.

The DPS alone that the bot can output is enough to win a lot of matches I’m sure. Now add in the inhuman reaction times that allow it to meld coils/storm bolts in melee, reverse magic instantly, glimpse cc consistently, and swap targets the frame a defensive is used. In addition to perfect personal/external defensive usage with darkness being dropped at any point a teammate goes below 50%.

Good catch. Saw Supa’s video as well and it’s both hilarious and infuriating at the same time.

Is the bot dumb enough to follow you out of their own darkness if you lead it?

Yup I went up against a dh bot and it’s exactly that. If the bot is allowed uptime it can win.

Kiting it is hard because it just switches on the closest thing and does big dam. If it reaches a certain health it just drops darkness or blurs. Dh defenses are so strong and the spec does so much damage, it’s actually the perfect spec to bot with.

It’s pretty sophisticated stuff ngl.

Evidentiary claims don’t get dismissed outright, imagine that.

Eventually it will be AI bots vs other AI bots, which then sell carries for real players.

Nice that there were minor pvp hotfixes but nothing addressing this after people posting clear evidence.

Chan was also facing a bot and explaining something from an old vod.
Link is a timestamp, you need to open it on a different tab otherwise it will play from start instead of the timestamp. It’s 2h25m from todays stream.

How do you see this information? Curious if he’s still queuing or if he’s been banned. Recently got one of those in game mails that said “Thank you for reporting…”

This running in wall DH is real threat for World of Warcraft.

I used Seramate. He hid his characters as of a minute ago. Therefore, I can’t check the last time he queued.
