Can we get some more cosmetic backpieces just a bit more often outside of the trading post?
One good thing I can list from Shadowlands was how many backpieces it had available and how different they all were. There were a ton. Now we only get a few, and most of the time they are either just backpacks or recolors of butterfly wings, there aren’t too many really unique backpieces coming often.
Theres a lot that could be done with them too. Maybe a seasonal reward from m+? or maybe add some in to class halls, giving every class their own unique backpiece. Theres a lot of options but it’d be cool to see some crazy backpieces.
An example of crazy backpieces would be something like the toy “Blazing Wings”, giving you fire wings. Seeing stuff like that would be very cool. Could get celestial wings that match the shop set (ideally not from the shop tho) and all sorts of things like that.

As much as the back pieces rock I find I never use them since they hide my gun and I have no choice in the matter. And the one back piece that didnt, they ended up nerfing it and taking it away again. I grinded all that Tuskar rep and they took it away.
So whoever is in charge of transmog/UI/art all of that development time and money is going down the drain as far as im concerned.
I’m a hunter, not some little girl running around with just a backpack. Most of the time it doesnt even clip. I really resent the fact that they took this option away from me TBH. Do any of these devs even play the game? Just add a toggle…

Doesn’t have to go down the drain, people have been asking for a toggle and that would be the solution. Dont force backpieces to hide weapons, just make it so you can toggle between hide weapon/show weapon.
On that matter there are other toggles we could use ie toggle 1handers to sheathe on back. This one is really important and I’m sad they haven’t found a way to do this yet. They spoke about it a few expacs ago but they really should add this.

My only want for backpieces right now is that they’d do a second ‘pass’ in the Legion heritage sets and add the Void Wings as a standalone back item for void elves.
I love them, but having it tied to a chest item of all things really mess up with matching other items.

I guess to throw out an example of what I’d like to see using my class as an example:
Back piece totems for Shamans. Taurens have back piece totems for their race specifically, but I’d love to see Lava/Wind/Earth/Water totems that Shamans can get. Like a glowy fire totem that goes on your back and has the shaman symbol on it would be awesome.
Could be a cool reward added to mage tower, they’d just have to do back pieces for every class to do that but doesn’t seem too difficult in terms of creativity at least. Could also just be added as a questline through the class halls too.
Backpieces are really cool, I don’t mind the backpacks but I’d like to see more really unique ones like what SL had. A toggle to hide/show weapon so the back piece doesn’t remove it would be very nice too.

yeah, the option to hide weapon/show weapon is long overdue. show weapon ideally overrides having a backpiece, meaning you can have both showing, whereas hide weapon gives you the option to use a backpiece while hiding your weapon, or just hiding your weapon without a backpiece.
