More classes for Dracthyr. Excited?

I kind of am.

I never really paid attention to them because they could only be Evokers and the mage-shaman hybrid class never interested me. I just slap some color combos together just to have my one Evoker then never really paid attention to that alt again.

However, now we know in the future we can roll other classes, I’m giving this race a fresh look and I’m thinking about the color and armor combinations a lot more.

Also, letting them fly like a regular mount (something that should have been done in the beginng) makes them much more appealing to me.

So I’m curious about the rest of you. Does the recent and upcoming changes to this race make them more appealing to you?

Not really, because I still don’t like the dracthyr form and don’t want to be forced to choose between being either a female human or a male blood elf. If they allowed all races for the visage form, then yes, I would be happy. But as it is, I will continue to avoid that race. :dracthyr_shrug:

I don’t play Evoker because it’s tied to Dracthyr, not the other way around.
So no, I’m not personally excited. It’s a race I’ll never play.
Evoker available for other races is what I want to see.

That’s fair and I get it. I’ve been advocating for more visages since Dracthyr were released. I don’t know if Ebonhorn does this on the Alliance side, but when you talk to him in Org, it’s like he’s implying you can choose your visage, like there is an option.

I just look at the flying under their own power and more classes as baby steps.

I’ll never make a scale thing…

Never…

The whole concept just looks like they didn’t finish the race in time. Only one body type instead of two like all the others. You can’t use transmogs, and they say the race can express how they feel with their visage form… but that somehow gets reduced to only half of just two races.

hmm… not interested.

Always bothered me how restricted the race was because the Sundered Flame had used rogue and mage Dracthyr at launch. Later encounter warrior Dracthyr. :robot::thought_balloon:

…and now we have Earthen druids in War Within while it’s unavailable to play. :hourglass_flowing_sand::robot:

I love monster races and my mind never went to the “scaly” thing.

So that’s why I’m looking forward to it.

I’d love to play a monk Dracthyr, it would bring back my old iskar monk days of everquest.

I’m considering a mage almost exclusively based on the idea that I can lite something up then swoop off into the sky’s. OR Swoop in from the skys and drops havoc in unexpecting NPC’s

I pretty much did the same as you. I rolled one, leveled it, and parked it in the garage.

Personally, I’m not a fan of the lizard form, but I do prefer races that resemble monsters, too. Another reason why it annoys me that this race is tied to the two most overrated races in the game: human and blood elf. By the way, I have a similar issue with worgen. The basic concept is cool, but do they really have to keep the human form? Of course, that might just be a personal opinion, so idk.
If, as I said, all races were available for Dracthyr, that would be nice, but only human and belf? Ugh.

Amen.

I just bury my head in the sand and pretend my worgen doesn’t have a human form. I don’t even remember if I bothered to customize it.

Dude I hope so. I’m under the impression you can’t have too many paladins (or hunters.)

Another rogue I guess.

I’m mixed about it.

Not because they’re opening them up to more classes. That’s cool, and I’m happy for the people who love them. I have nothing against the model, I don’t like the visage. If I wanted to play an Elf, I would be already. So yes to more options, but meh on I can only be an Elf if I want to play one.

But they’re not elves, they’re a humanoid amalgamation unique only to dracs. This was touched on in the evoker intro conclusion

The males just happen to use the belf right. Like wrathion, and he’s not an elf

Aesthetics matter. If on my screen the base is an Elf, then it’s an Elf. :dracthyr_shrug:
