I’m dumb founded. I can’t believe that they added more class reworks to 10.0.7 and mage is not one of them. Between the reworks in 10.0.5 and 10.0.7 we have to be one of the few classes to not get changed. Not to mention, we are IMHO, the worst designed class in the game at this point. Why? When will blizz show us a little love?
Exactly why i stopped playing weeks ago. Not wasting any more time with idiotic development and players who are in denial
yep there is still time until next season for blizz to wake up and fix mage … but im prety sure they are gona continue to award themself medal for slaping every old clunky mage borowed power on there with ducktape.
No-icelance is officially dead this entire expansion.
I will admit, blizz seems to be doing alot more balancing/reworks then they have in the past. This gives me hope, but, the fact that we are always the lowest priority is frustrating. I really just want some explanation or reasoning to why this is.
I would not say Mages are in a good spot. Sure there have been some buffs to Fire and Frost recently. Fire performs well on higher keys when everything doesn’t die in 10 seconds and the tank is able to pull large groups.
I don’t do PvP, battle pets and only do World content when I have to or if I think it’s necessary. I rather enjoy the profession system well Tailoring is okay I feel like Enchanting got the shaft in terms of getting knowledge points. I primarily Raid and do Mythic +.
Mythic + is fun and I enjoy it when I can get into one. Shadowlands I didn’t have any issues getting into an Mythic +. ugh making me praise Shadowlands now I feel dirty. I have a 1963 Rating and it’s a chore just to get into a 14 or higher in Group Finder.
Want to know what makes players re-evaluate why they should play this game keep paying there sub? When they don’t get to play it.
When I have to spend 40 minutes trying to get into a Mythic + 14 or higher and constantly be declined. I just feel exhausted with WoW and log out. Not the good kind of exhausted, just the exasperation of being unable to play the game and questioning why I even bother. Is this a good time investment? Rather than grinding Keys I’m grinding Declines or just ignores to eventually get an Invite to an M+.
Mages are not in a good spot in Mythic + they’re other classes that they can take that do more dps and more/equal the same level of utility.
What is your source for this info? I see nothing on mmochampion.
They wont do it cause they DONT HAVE a mage dev, guys, when you gonna accept it?
When they really hire a dev, you’ll see imediately 'cause they will stop pushing stupid percentage buffs and will make actual changes to the class.
I don’t think mage is unique in not having a specific dev. I don’t think any of their class designers actually play the game beyond maybe hitting a few combat dummies. Also, they don’t read the forums, so I doubt they understand, or care, what the players think about the class.
Who are you addressing?
The OP.
I want to see the information on the other class reworks coming. What classes, etc. But I can’t find anything.
Thats not a mage issue. Thats likely a YOU issue.
I dont agree, i think Rogues, Warlocks, Shammans and Demon Hunters have a really good team behind them; Even Druids seems to have a team at least TRYING something… wrongly, but trying lol
Retribution is the one getting reworked and quite substantially at that.
At this point we are probably waiting until Season 2 for any mage changes.
I’d say if we don’t see anything then, that’s when you should start bowing out of playing Mage (if you’re currently not enjoying it). I don’t think they’ll shake things up too much with most mages already having their gear to push progression (in the event that the changes would change stat priorities) in the current season…especially this late in.
I’m remaining optimistic that season 2 will just have a hugeee amount of work for us. I’ll shift gears to the doubters if we get nothing on that big patch.
I think mages will follow the pattern of the last few expansions:
Little or no mage changes the entire expansion.
I suspect, at best we’ll see the simplest possible mage buffs/nerfs as Blizzard adjusts overall mage damage up or down slightly by percentile.
i’m enjoying playing with my alts
It kind of sucks that fire/frost have so many dead active ability talents. Flamestrike (iconic ability??), ebonbolt, comet storm, ray of frost, living bomb are all fun to use abilities that absolutely are terrible for all forms of content currently (besides ray in pvp).
You’ve expressed my experience with feral in Shadowlands quite well with that statement. It is likely that feral has been in that position for many years now up until recently. That said, the pendulum was inevitably going to swing the other way. But its going to take out several classes each time. Giving every class consistent damage profiles is probably going to be the better option long term. Managing CDS is painful for a lot of players, mage CD management is a whole new level (at least arcane anyway).
I tend to equate managing Arcane CDs to juggling butcher knives. Its a thrilling experience, until you miss one , then you are losing a finger or toe.
