More Cinematics please - Reviving the Magic: The Importance of Realistic Cinematics in WoW

Long ago, realistic cinematics in WoW were a rallying cry, an inspiration, and a legacy for both the community and the game. These meticulously crafted scenes were more than just visuals; they were storytelling masterpieces that captivated players and deepened their connection to the game world. They set a standard for immersion and narrative that resonated with players, creating unforgettable moments that are still cherished today.

However, it seems that the current approach to cinematics has shifted away from this level of realism. As a dedicated player and member of this community, I urge the developers to invest time and resources in creating high-quality, realistic cinematics once again. These scenes have the power to inspire and unite the community, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations of gamers.

Personally, I have always been in awe of the older WoW cinematics. The realism and detail in those scenes brought the lore and characters to life in a way that gameplay alone could not achieve. Watching those cinematic moments felt like stepping into another world, filled with epic battles and rich stories. It’s disappointing to see the shift away from this style, as it diminishes some of the magic that made WoW so captivating. Please bring back the magic of realistic cinematics to WoW.

In the past? You mean like…earlier today? In November 2023?

What are you talking about? We get realistic cinematics for every expansion. They look better and better every time.

The only time we got more than the once-per-expansion big budget CGI cinematic was BfA. Hell, they didn’t even really start with in-game cutscenes until WotLK. So I’m not sure which “long ago” you’re talking about here.

But I wouldn’t be surprised if there was another one coming for TWW, since the one they released today was mostly just a clip show.
