More Balance Druid nerfs for 11.0.5 - thanks blizz

Thank you for making a few talents baseline and then (for whatever reason) nerfing a bunch of other stuff to compensate and thus making us actually net negative in terms of damage gain this patch (~1% single target nerf and 5% AoE nerfs). I really appreciate it - love the direction we’re heading in.

Boomy playstyle just got exponentially more cringe too, with Elune’s now being the go-to, yet still being weak… Having to hard-cast tedious starfires and repeatedly tab dot moonfires without treants in M+ since we have to take Warrior of Elune. And there is literally zero defensive gain from the Elunes hero talents also, to go along with our terrible class tree that lacks defensives. And the new Mushroom talent is complete garbage and is hardly worth taking in any type of content really.

The 2-charge Celestial Alignment talent has to be the most cringe, terrible thing I’ve ever experienced, its crazy someone actually thought it would be useful and a good idea… It has 0 synergy with the spec and makes no sense. On top of this, hard casting stellar flare on ST once again along with moons is mega cringe, legitimately nobody thinks stellar flare is fun, and the ST rotation is back to a bunch of button bloated BS that has zero interaction together.

Meanwhile numerous meta specs like Assassination and Arcane that are legitimately getting 5%+ buffs, LOL. Elemental is absolutely blasting right now too after their buffs and is busted. I love how they get a mastery rework since it was pointless before, but never got any compensation nerfs, meanwhile we get like 10 nerfs to counter any buffs.

Can’t wait for Balance druid to be bottom of the barrel for the raid damage again this week and then need another 10-15% of drip-fed aura buffs over the coming weeks to be relevant again. Probably time to afk / uninstall for a couple weeks and wait, or respec to Guardian in the meantime.

edit: Yep, and I was right, looking at the raid data from yesterday setting filter for just 11.0.5 we’re right back down in the bottom 3 for raid DPS (not counting augmentation).

I tried out balance for like 5 minutes and went back to resto. Balance is fun, but with those new DPS healing changes to the resto tree, you feel like a freaking disc priest now!

Stellar flare, convoke, trees, new moon all at once and did I mention now you have this stupid double CA charge CD talent? Also its a net dps loss

Jesus even if you aura buff this into being good it will be the worst playing balance druid of all time. Holy cow you just made the spec so much worse with your big brain “rework”, I am actually cringing with how incredible the failure of this patch for balance was.

You literally did a single good thing with baseline starfall, such an obvious fix to a problem YOU created with the new talents that you get zero points for finally getting around to it.

This spec has legitimately taken 5 steps back after 11.0.5, which I never even thought would be possible, but they managed to do it. Its really quite impressive.

Pour one out for pulsar, the true staple of boomie. Look at all the nonsense mechanics blizzard has to come up with to replace pulsar’s effectiveness. Just to fall short.

Yep, if you check the raid DPS ranks on warcraftlogs and make sure its set for 11.0.5, unsurprisingly, we’re back to the bottom 3 from yesterday.

Once more numbers come in we’re likely going to fall a bit more still, and we’re going to need about a 8%'ish aura buff just to be back in the mix for middle of the pack’ish damage.

Also, random aside, but Elemental shammy is straight up busted right now and is like 15% ahead of us, LOL. And in M+ Ele is doing absurd amounts of damage, basically 30% ahead of everything else at least.

Was excited to see Goldrinn again, then it hit for 53k. Was excited for free mushrooms, crap proc rate and always seems to trigger on the mob running away in fear. Was excited for double CA, doesn’t reset on wipe and sometimes says unlearned. I guess the war within defeated my will to play druid, off to something more enjoyable. Can’t sell a race change for Dracthyr to a class that can’t be dracthyr, so why waste dev time. AI driven at best.

ohh yeah that double ca charge cd talent is something you might pick up accidentally and brick your keys. Whoever is in charge must have some serious mental issues, maybe a retard. Idk

I’m kind of reaching this point myself. My Balance druid just feels so weak in comparison to other classes I play. Not even doing high level content yet, just slumming it in delves and world content Balance really struggles. Very poor survivability and not doing enough damage to offset that.

Any hope on the horizon? Should I be running feral at this point and save Balance for group content? Should I just play my Shaman? LOL kind of hoping someone can throw me a life line here. I’d really like to stick with my Druid but it just feels like banging my head against a wall for no good reason.

Dabbling around on a warlock, mainly demo because gotta live that d2 summon necro fantasy. Yeah demo has weaknesses, but it’s still fun. Sending 25+ imps to explode is never not fun.

Demo is a ton of fun to play. I have always ran Destro since MoP on my Warlock but coming back for TWW Demo just feels really good. Especially for the content level I’m at now Demo is great.

I run my Druid, the 'lock, a DK, and my Shaman mostly and out of those the difference between the Druid and the rest is very noticeable. They are closest to the Shaman, where my Shaman also lacks the survivability of a plate or pet class, obviously, they at least feel like their damage is at a level that doesn’t leave them feeling weak.

My Druid feels like getting murdered while slapping mobs with a wet noodle. LOL maybe I’m just a terrible druid, entirely possible, but I’m not some super Shaman or DK either and they feel noticeably stronger while playing.

Balance druid is very squishy. I swap to bear for t8 delves just to mindlessly chain pull. Balance I had to pop just about everything to survive a standard pack. Even Typhoon into Vortex to retop hp.

I’ve leveled druid, war, dh, lock, mage, and sham. Druid struggled the most, and was more geared. My shaman was taking on lvl 80 elites at 77 without lust or earth ele as enh.

Druid just felt like a flop, and the changes with the anniversary felt like steps in the wrong direction.

I was hopeful the updates would help but seemed to not make much difference. Maybe for folks watching the meters there was a change, but just doing content it was basically a wash.

I swapped to bear when I need to in delves, but stuff just hits harder when you do so. Whoever came up with that idea should never be allowed to work on video games again. The trade off is you go slower and do less damage. Granted going from Balance to Guardian the trade off is a lot smaller than say my DK going from Unholy to Blood, but it is still there.

I keep hoping I’ll hit an ilvl where Balance comes into its own or that I’ll find a talent build that seems to really make the spec take off but it is starting to feel kind of pointless. Maybe I’ll just give feral a real go and see if that helps out, but I wanted to fill out my ranged dps roster. I might just switch to my Ele Shaman full time instead.

I fear being kicked from every pug I join because of my dps. If it weren’t for MotW I would never be able to get into anything.

Barkskin and attempting to use a heal is a joke so I end up having to wait for cd’s just to be able to survive some pulls.

I still don’t know why we have yet to see a blue post addressing the reason for these changes. They broke our class and it needs to be fixed. Our survivability/damage should have been buffed, we don’t need weak fuggin mushrooms, a second charge of CA or stellar flare.

WTH!!! They nerf Rattle the star again by 2%…So the total nerf was 5?.. Starsurge doesnt even hit hard…
