Why do people continue to make boxing threads? The same 4-5 people always come to defend it and the threads always turn toxic and sour.
and the same few players keep making them…and posting on alts to do it.
You all expect to trash boxers and they dont get to speak???
So, careful with the “you” here. I’m just pointing out that these threads always have the same arguments, and same outcomes, and same people, and yet everyone jumps down the rabbit hole again and again. It seems silly.
In this thread the toxicity you’ve seen is the result of a few of the people defending the MB system we have. However, I’ve done my best to engage in a civil discussion and not engaging with the trolls.
The reason these threads are popping up is that there are folks (like me) who see the combined behavior of a few MB’ers as detrimental to gameplay, especially for new players. As someone whose been in the game for a long time, I’d love to see more folks come into the game; an opportunity we have with the new expansion. However, having been through expansions since 2008, I’ve seen how quickly new players vacate when they’re unable to progress; which is something the bad behavior of a few MB’ers continue to inflict on the rest of us.
Only the most recent zones contain mats of any value. Multiboxers don’t farm stuff that is of no value. Nobody does.
So this didn’t happen.
I believe you’re just plain lying. But it’s also a fact that right now people are bored out of their minds by BfA and the worthless last patch. A fair number of players are leveling multibox teams because it’s something to do, and idiots see this and make the outrageous claim that a group of 5 level 20’s are farming something in no demand and with no value to buy a mount.
The big issue with leveling a multibox team is no different from leveling in any party: old content is designed for clickable items to despawn and respawn later. The clicks are not shared by a party like they are in current content. So if you have to click 12 items and you’re having trouble finding them, the party of 5 and the multiboxer are both having to click a total of 60 items, which can take an hour.
Your entire post is garbage.
sorry…just sounded like you were attacking the ‘defenders’ there. Thats how it goes in these threads pretty much every time.
- troll thread created by low post count alt.
- someone defends boxing
- names start flying
- bliz position is posted over and over and ignored as often
- more name calling…‘cheater’ ‘losers’ etc etc.
- then the inevitable whine that we dare to respond at all to these blatant attacks on a permitted play style.
I just assumed we had hit that stage when I read your post. Every now and then I get one wrong lol
No, you have not.
Please. . drop it. You came here to troll. Your post got shut down by the system and will be going away shortly and we have been trying to point out alternatives. They are just things you do not want to hear, so you excuse them out of hand.
Please stop baiting everyone and realize that this is not the giant issue you have reported.
And try to respect us won’t you?
thats right…we’re defending LEGAL play and clearly that is upsetting to you. Seems kinda familiar to some political groups we’re dealing with these days, lol.
no…you havent. you started with that ‘troll’ trash the second you werent catered to.
calling people ‘troll’ because you cant handle facts isnt civility…sorry.
And blizzard knows the numbers. clearly it aint the problem you claim it is or theyd be forced to do something after 15 years now.
never had a single boxer bother me. others have told you and others like you the same thing. 99% of the playerbase ISNT in here screaming about it. That says something. for certain.
This happens in the areas that still provide mats for shuffles and bags. I’ve seen it happen daily in Borean Tundra and also in Suramar.
Good point, and I respect your beliefs. However, in this case you are incorrect. If you take some time to peruse r/woweconomy you’ll see regular posts about new places to farm for: pure gold, shuffle mats, and transmogs. Additionally, there are numerous youtube channels devoted to 2x4 gold farming with great strategies for hyperspawning for older materials. Finally, with the new “Relics of Antiquity” in SL, that behavior continues with older mats.
I appreciate your sentiment, and thanks for the feedback on this important topic.
Oh poor you /plays worlds smallest violin
If these people want to pay more for multiboxing that is their prerogative. Seriously get over it.
as long as they are making money nothing is going to get done and we will never see anything new
and then theres that.
posting on alts kinda gives the impression of little integrity, for certain.
someone had to say it.
Respectfully, I don’t think that’s Blizz’ motivation. They’ve allowed multi-boxing since 2008 when the first blue-post came out to address the issue, I because they feel it is just another playstyle that doesn’t negatively impact the game. Since then there have been many changes to the player-base and size, gameplay styles and mechanics, and learned behaviors of players. Because of these issues, it is my opinion the matter deserves to be addressed again, 12 years later.
Again though, I’m not concerned with the multi-boxer who is in an area where folks aren’t levelling. I’m concerned with multiboxing in level areas specifically in shadowlands. I think any other discussion is probably out of scope and really just a distraction by the toxic few who choose to psychotically continue to support these bad behaviors as features of the game.
god this kills me to say…but in their defense they ARE a business.
Either boxing IS a big $$$ thing as you all claim…and it’d be financial suicide to ban it.
or its NOT as big as you all claim and its not the problem claimed either.
My guess is the latter is true.
Hmmm, one month sounds reasonable ,i would suggest they have to be max level since most would enter at 50 to farmas for gold farming last part is already will be applied at the pre-patch a nerfing to dungeon drops and gold in old content.
As long as they don’t disrupt leveling in Shadowlands, I tend to agree.
There is nothing in demand in most old content. You are on a very strange realm if you’re making bags from mats from Suramar, because next to nobody is now, given how inexpensive current bags are. It makes no financial sense to do something less profitable. But proceed. Don’t let me stop you.
I don’t understand. Are you too lazy to do your own farming and want the game to be redesigned to keep others from getting ahead of you?
I have leveled a lot of characters and seen next to no one farming in leveling zones. I have seen a fair number still farming in BfA.
But whenever there are low level multiboxing teams leveling, I always see people posting in chat trying to harass them, encourage others to harass them, and calling them bots. For minding their own business and leveling.
and…they DID recently update their statement page…so clearly they HAVE internally ‘addressed’ it and made a recent decision in the matter.

Multiboxing
Multiboxing, or playing multiple World of Warcraft accounts at once, is not a violation of our Terms of Use. We do not support multiboxing tools.
https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/24258
what do expect them to do? send you a personal notice of intent?
Theyve made their position VERY clear…and VERY recently.
you mean the ones you attack who play the game by the rules?
or the ones who keep reminding you of that fact?
speaking “toxic”…keep calling us trolls.
The “problem” of anti-multiboxing spam can easily be addressed by making the topic off-limits.
You don’t have any proof that that is going to happen though. That is all we are trying to say.
You have started out by saying GET RID OF IT. Penalize them. But you don’t know what’s going to happen. And as was pointed out, and you ignored, resources won’t be as important in the initial push. But that does not fit YOUR narrative.
Seeing that this thread will be gone soon I will say good day and wish you luck. I don’t think you will listen to reason, however.
