I started in June, didn’t know what I was doing now the muscle memory is so ingrained I hit keybinds setup for multiboxing when I’m solo lol.

It would depend on the degree of randomness and the distance the nodes were away. But let us just say that a mboxer has worked out where a particular set of nodes are going to respawn. So they park their characters in the relatively small area and simply farm those nodes. Me, I wouldn’t find that a problem, because it would mean they are sitting there in a static situation just waiting for nodes to spawn. If they are players, that’s fine. If they are bots, its very easy to figure that out and report them because they aren’t moving. Chasing down suspected bots and checking them and reporting them can be annoying, but if they are planted somewhere it’s a lot easier.
I do understand the work people put into gold farming. I’m not saying it’s an ideal solution and it might not even work, but it’s still worth considering.
Been trying my best to keep it to a single account. Goal has always been to never invest more than xpacs + 6 mo recurring sub in the game, because that’s where the cost feels most reasonable considering diminishing returns and such. Not against expensive hobbies but would rather dump that kind of cash into something with better long-term payoff, preferably outlasting my career in this game.
As an alt monster I never felt like it was too much trouble to make gold. I wanted to save up 5k for 310 flying in prepatch, 40 minutes in M HFC and I’m 3000 gold richer, 15 minutes in Highmaul and I’m 1300g richer, now I have my 5k. Do it for whatever alts I need gold and I’m good. Sadly it’s getting “nerfed” in SL so I’ll have to move on to Legion raids 
I get it, everyone has their goals and priorities, for me I’m just a wow player. That’s all I am now, that’s all I’ll be when I die so saving $65 a month to pay for 6 months sub time and buying 5 xpacs every 2 years doesn’t seem like a bad deal for something I spend 12+ hours a day doing.

As I said, I have no issues with it staying, I just don’t want it normalized to the point of being the preferred way to play.
I like multi boxers that wave back at me. They are cool with me.

whats with all the anti-multiboxer threads recently? Did multiboxers hurt someones feelings or something?
I doubt it will be. Multiboxing isn’t just, buy another account, buy some MBox software and then you’re all set. It can be annoying and there’s always things to troubleshoot and problems to solve, and all these people complaining about the unpruning adding more abilities? Yeah, they’ll never be multiboxers because you’ll need to learn 500 new keybinds to control your team.

Some botter’s decided to spam the forums with disinformation and misdirection to cover their activities.
I wish I could link the onion sites, there is a campaign to hide their activities and they created docs for their users to follow with the directive to spam the forums and other media with disinformation. They even have a list of topics to choose from to get started to cut and paste.
If you look at some of the post histories of these thread starters, it’s all they post about.

Does something that’s against the rules until it gets banned, then starts a new account and repeats the same process.

That is how it is. Multiboxing is not good for any game but the amount of people benefiting from the monopolistic style of economy doesn’t want to pay more for things that are suppose to take effort.
Quite a lot of other games limit the amount of active account per PC to 2 at most because they are aware of the ingame consequences, but it is easy money for blizzard so they will never let them go.

Just dual boxing was annoying. I tried quad boxing and dear god. screw that. You all have fun with that, lol.
I think MOST players who did try it would stop bothering with it for one reason or another within a month.
15 years and its not that big now anyway. and its very likely that between covid and that stupid AH mount that thats why its going nuts like it has been recently.
High degree of automation? This is word salad.
Multi boxing does not require automation, so what you are saying is just a lie.
