Morale for people who don't Get the legendary

  • The shards for Val’anyr were a very low drop rate except for if you killed Yogg-Saron with no light. And needing 30 of them meant you needed to funnel one player for quite a while before they got enough.
  • Shadowmourne required blood off Festergut and Rotface that weren’t 100% drop rates. The Shadowfrost Shards had a decent chance but still weren’t 100%.
  • Dragonwrath required Eternal Embers that were random how many you got (including as few as 0) off the bosses in Firelands.
  • Fangs of the Father is probably the least RNG-dependent here, as the random drop is frequent enough that you usually only need 3-4 25-man clears to get.

So I can get on board with the daggers, but the other 3 all had pretty hefty RNG components to them. They may not have been so random as to represent the difference between ever getting the item or not, but they were random enough to greatly restrict how many a consistent group could hope to see before the season was over.

It can be, depending on that drop rate. How accessible the drop location is only part of the equation.

I would be fine with this, personally.

If it was purely cosmetic, it would be different. But its a chance at borrowed power. What if only 3% of players who played shadowlands were able to be in covenants. And the rest of the server couldnt, and didnt get the power or abilities. Its the same thing

My issue with these items. If you down the content without it, why do you need it? Why does it even exist to begin with? It’s annoying at this point that people want to take breaks but you keep raiding just to help people have their chance for this rare item. RNG legendary items need to go away for good. Make it quest lines only

the dumb part about the axe is… all the classes are balanced around it, they literally need the axe to progress, except for ret. ret seems to be ok without the axe.

wars and dks? dks are iffy hit or miss, wars though… ive seen wars with ilvl cap get kicked “because they don’t have the axe” in high keys.

my mains guild has a bunch of axe wielders, its night and day on the charts between the axe haves and axe have nots.

Literally could have made it purely cosmetic, cool animations on attacks, turn you into fyrakk etc. But gating a classes power behind a item is very bad. Especially where its less than a % chance to get it

This stuff going around that our classes are built around it, Ret is #1 in keys, and we do solid in raids now. These rankings are built around current numbers, which include most people not having the legendary. Our class is one of the best in the game right now without it. The last set of buffs, coupled around our survivability, utility, no Ret Pally should be having trouble getting into anything.

Classes**** look at warriors

Shards of Valanyr were a bit rng but like you said you had some guarantee ones. Overall getting shards of an item with high rng compare to current legendary is still better than what we got right now by miles.

the bloods are 100% drop chance. The shards again had some “near garantee” ones with a lot of boss drop rates being between 50-91% drop chance. Still way better than what we got.

The same goes for dragonwrath… Each boss has a 80% chance to drop at least one Eternal Ember

… seems like you understand the concept.

… yes by a couple weeks of rng not months of difference. Each bosses had still some garantee to drop you were garanteed to get them.

I think you need to understand that dropping parts of a legendary with high chance is better than a small chance to get a legendary by far. Because that means that the average is way closer to each others, it means you’re pretty much guaranteed to get one.

another week , another RNG, another nothing :smiling_face_with_tear:, its fine…maybe next week :pensive:

No log of current raid data supports this conclusion. Ret paladin isn’t even the top spec amongst 2H strength users at any percentile of mythic raid.

Sure, and I’ve made no argument to the contrary. I’m not arguing this legendary acquisition is good. Just that RNG has been a staple of most exclusive legendary items since the start of the game. Many examples of that RNG were less impactful than whether you could realistically get the item or not, for sure; but RNG did still play a vital role in how many of the item consistent groups could ever expect to have.

There’s a difference with getting a legendary 3-4 weeks of difference vs people being able to rng drop it from the first weeks and you never getting it after 3 months. That’s not on the same level of rng. It’s not even comparable.

This! Legendaries should not work like they did in 2004! The game is so different now. How does this system make the game better or more fun overall? Anyone still waiting for the axe isn’t just missing out on a cool extra, like with Sulfuras or Shadowmorne, they’re actually at a disadvantage if they want to push M+ competitively.

The current system makes the game worse for people who just didn’t get the item in a reasonable time frame and I think that sucks.

Groups killed M-Fyrakk pre-nerf and without the axe. It isn’t “needed” in the literal sense.

You “wanting” it isn’t the same as “needing” it to progress.

When you’ll be able to get players as skilled as world first players in your group you might have a point. Most people skill will never reach or be close to them. Most people will kill M fyrakk with way more gear than the first kills and they’ll do it after nerfs.

Because again classes that got it were tuned around it, they are not better than other classes with it so trying to restrict it at this point doesn’t make sense. You’re just turning a knife in the wound by restricting it after so many weeks.

Dear God. The children whiners are out again.

Legendary items. ARE NOT supposed to be easy to get. They take A LOT of time. Most guilds will only ever get one for their entire guild.

This isn’t an item you are supposed to see on every single character in game.

For the love of God quit playing wow if all you want are legendary items…you won’t get them. So get over it now.

If they were not easy to get why can they drop in LFR?
RNG is not a difficulty when moreover you can’t grind it.
It is just arbitrarily bad design.

Keep the faith, brothas n sistas that don’t got the axe yet, if someone like me can get it, then anyone can. They could at least be transparent about the drop % chance though, but Blizz hasn’t been transparent in years.

Man this dude is a meme. That’s EXACTLY what rng means and is. You don’t ever deserve a drop. Your 5-10% variance is just false. Nothing in the game is balanced around the axe except the axe.

But most of all…
Everything is working as intended and you just want rare loot free.

Honestly it’s kind of going that way outside of gaming as well. Life is way too easy if setbacks cause such reactions

No class was tuned around it. Stop putting this nonsense out there. Blizz doesn’t tune classes to effect items less than .0001% of players actually have on that class, they tune the item. This is a ridiculous thing you’ve made up, or choked down from some other troll on the forums that has no logical basis.

Whine more for free loot!
