MoP Warlock GOAT

There’s a post on reddit about how Xelnath designed the MoP warlock with help from commited warlock players. I personally loved the class and affliction was my favorite.

…did anyone NOT like MoP Warlock?

Does Blizz still reach out to players to help guide class design?

I didnt. I really disliked demo’s playstyle back then.

I’m aware this is a very unpopular opinion.

Did you use the demon hunting glyph? It made the spec a melee casters.

Used to absolutely adore affliction in MoP. The loss of dot snapshotting completely killed it for me though.

Occasionally, but I rolled my demo lock to be a master summoner, not a demon hunter.

Yeah, everyone that wasn’t abusing how busted the Warlocks were in MoP.

I never loved any human being on planet earth nearly as much as I loved MoP Demo.

I didn’t like getting completely demolished by warlocks in pvp on the holy priest I was maining at the time. Seemed like every damn class and spec demolished me. Maybe I was undergeared… maybe not.

When a specialization is performing outrageously it feels really good to play. MOP’s Destruction Warlock is a perfect example of that. What is BFA’s “MOP Warlock” I wonder?

Because players don’t want balance even tho they cry about it, they want their favorite specialization to be OP.

Everytime someone says that they enjoyed their spec more in the past it was probably on the time it was broken, just like OP.

I loved everything about MoP locks. That’s why I was able to main the lock throughout all of MoP. I didn’t even really play alts much at all.

Except for me, I guess.

Because I’m a hypercasual. I never cared about meters. I don’t even have them.

I just play what’s fun to me.

And being a shirtless Zombie Demon Wizard was the best fun I ever had.

I miss it.

You saw what happened with Xelnath. He was very pro-active and publicly outspoken in his efforts and look where it got him. Rehiring him could do nothing but help this game but I don’t foresee that happening.

I played warlock from two weeks before BC to WoD.

I quit because I realized it would never be as good as it was in MoP ever again.

I main mage, monk and shammy now.

Aff was OP in Legion and it was boring as hell and terrible.

So yeah. MoP Destro didn’t need gutted, it needed numbers lowered.

It was insanely fun to play. The entire class was.

Not because it was OP.

Still imo, WotLK demo was the best playing spec ever. I loved it. It was our weakest spec by alot too outside of Aoe.

thought legion was when it was broken? mop just allowed for casting on the run, which was amazing for most caster classes.

It wasn’t just locks, my shaman was so good in MOP, best I ever played.
And not because of casting on the run (which was great , no doubt about it) - it was just huge fun to play all around and I felt powerful, as any and all classes should feel.

Didn’t really play much demo. Just played Affliction and Dest.

That was the old Soul Fire into metamorphosis rotation right?

Xelnath was the true warlock prophet. He knew what way to take us (if only he had tiem to do to demo/aff what he did for destro)

and no. they claim to take player feedback, but msot everyone agrees that they dont as they do stuff that is opposite of most players want.
