MoP Timerunning Question

Just a quick question for GD:
It is my understanding that during the time the MoP timerunning event is active, you can start a new character and “play MoP like when it was current content” and gain new rewards along the way and the character(s) made will transition to DF/War Within.

Q: If i wanted my friend to play with me, but he would be a new player to WoW, can he level through the Pandaria timerunning event with me if he’s new to the game? I do realize we both would be sticking to the MoP event and that character could only be played using the rules of the event, I was just wondering if he would have to play through all the tutorial stuff or can he just go straight to the new event?

You play it as if it’s Chromie Time on steroids. It’s not Classic Mists.

Yes, it’s a separate instance of the game, so just choose the Remix button to create a character on whichever server you want.

Oh, and just in case they start moving threads or more people post more information, there is a Remix forum, too.

Ah…Thanks for the clarification

So as long as my friend has a sub he can play the event then, correct? As in you dont need the most recent expansion or anything like that?

Indeed. It’s in retail WoW. You can choose existing servers and even add your Remix characters to your guild. You just hit the button for the event to create a character for the event and it’ll show up in your list of characters on that server with a little hourglass next to it to show you it’s a Remix character. It even shows in game like that, too.
