I know I’m a new player (About 1 month) but I have to say playing the mop remix has been really fun, I just hit level 40 with my first character as a Timerunner and I have to say comparing the few games I’ve played thus far this has to be the best experience I’ve had in a video game. My only other game was Overwatch. great job Blizzard.
Remix is very fun. I’d still be doing it but I have way too many alts now.
Still, it was fun and I leveled a panda, put a bear helm on her and now she looks like Max from Where the Wild Things Are.
She’s so cute.
<3 I am a little confused right now that I’m 70 how to properly gem though, I found some sites that kind of help but upgrading seems a little wonky too since jewlery doesn’t upgrade or cannot upgrade with other gear.
Are there any good sites for information on proper gems / cogs / metas to use ?
I didn’t bother to look anything up. I just played around with stacking the various stats we got. I also spent a lot on gems to run an experiment of sorts.
I used to do group content but I haven’t for a long time so that’s something to keep in mind.
I also thought for a long time that crit wasn’t that useful.
I was wrong. It’s very useful for some classes, not so much for others.
Versatility is, imo, the best for all classes and I stacked that as heavily as I could.
Vers is very, very fun.
For a long time I thought mastery was the best but again, like crit, it is for some but not all. Like Spriest, I found they do very well when you can stack crit with some mastery and a bit more vers.
Haste is important for any caster, imo but for a monk, especially BM, I can go with extremely little haste, stack vers and do great.
As for the other gems, cogwheel, tinker, meta. I really like the Life for meta. Imo it’s the best so I make sure my helm is fitted for that.
Tinker slots, I try to get explosive shots, anything fire related that does damage (can’t think of their names right now & don’t have the game up) and a shield here and there.
For cogwheel, I slot the boots for speed or anything that allows for faster movement and getting out of traps/stuns.
I’ve used the rogues vanish talent, too. That’s useful. Doorway is useful in certain areas because I’ve gotten stuck and was able to unstick myself.
That’s all I can recall now. We’re going to be getting newer, better gear soon enough so I didn’t bother to save the bullion for upgrades and spent it on gems instead to see which works best for which class, etc…
GL.
Also, watch your stats. There will be times in which you have over 100% crit.
When you get that, you can go ham. Idk what causes that, if it’s a Remix buff or somehow I accidentally gemmed myself for it but when it happens, it’s a lot of fun.
I found a site that gives a graph of all the stats and their number when diminishing returns kicks in.
As a result I haven’t been stacking that much and when I get close I start stacking speed, leech and armor. Am I doing it wrong?

I don’t think there’s a wrong or right way to do it. I think you should do it the way you want, what you think is fun.
Just have fun.
Don’t get caught up in the item level grind in remix. When the characters get converted to retail, they all convert at the same gear level regardless of your remix gear level. I think it’s Ilvl 415 in retail.
Level it up enough to have fun, but be sure to grab a few collectibles and armor sets you like too. Some of the items on the vendors are only available during the event.
Definitely having fun, just trying to avoid risk of being booted from a raid for not doing well which happened a few times in retail during my leveling adventures there LOL.
I’d like to get strong enough for heroic raids though.
As a veteran player myself since 2009 who originally played MoP from start to finish, I enjoyed it a lot too. It was a healthy dose of dopamine and nostalgia.
You stack all secondary stats to 100% DR except crit your stop when the value hits 100%. Tertiary stats are fine to stack after that.
If you are doing it any way other than that you are doing it wrong.
I really enjoyed Remix. Once I got all the Remix-exclusive cosmetics, I’ve just been speed leveling alts.
It has been a lot of fun!
Well, crit becomes moot after 100%, haste and vers go a little over 100%, mastery % depends on the spec but will probably hit caps sooner. Speed/leech/avoidance caps at 49%, armor has no cap.
In most cases, most tertiaries will come from cloak except from avoidance which only can roll on gear (I think 3-6 items with avoidance will put you at cap when maxed ilvl), then will be using secondaries on gems until everything hits cap then the only remaining gain will be using armor gems.
If you mean heroic raids in Remix, just jump in. I haven’t done any group content in Remix but from what I’ve heard, it’s basically a free for all and not as selective as Retail because Remix is so unbalanced.
That’s also what makes it so much fun.
That’s a good graph & explanation. Tyvm for posting it.
