IS there a way to purchase tmogs that are outside of your class? I want paladin/warrior ones but didnt want to make another paladin/warrior and wanted to try a diff class, can I only purchase tmogs and ensembles for this class?
I wish there was somebody who can give you a definite answer because I’d like to know 100% myself. From what I have been able to find out online that answer looks to be no.
Thats really going to upset me. I dont wanna play the same class i have in bis, i just want the ability to collect tmogs i missed while trying something new. Would be a massive oversight, especially if everything is account wide.
The ensembles sold by the vendors can be purchased and learned by any character. The tooltip on the item should tell you what armor restrictions, if any, exist on the appearances.
Things like the Pandaren starting gear, Kor’kron Shaman sets, and Shado-pan armor are fully cosmetic.
The Raid ensembles apply to the entire armor type, including specific items that were previously only available as class-locked tier pieces. Sets with robes apparently include Shirt and Pant variants of their chest and leg items, though some ensembles don’t seem to grant them properly yet.

If your playing a mage and you see a mog that says it’s for paladins/dks/warriors, will you be able to learn the mog so you have it for your other classes?
Edit: Logically I would think no…but you never know anymore hah.
You can buy the mogs on any toon and learn them.

You should be able to buy/learn a plate set on your mage, yes. You just need to keep in mind that you’ll only be able to mog them on your plate-wearers.

It looks like the only ones that you NEED to have the class for is the recolors of class sets from trading post. The raid and dungeon sets you can learn regardless of your class or armor type
And also the “world” gear sets that you get in remix are armor type specific.

i am leveling a warrior
if you level a warrior and purchase the shaman xmog set, it will work for when you play shaman
