Why are you assuming this is the case, do you have a source?
I think its more so you cant sell Remix specific stuff to non Remix characters.
The wording also suggests you wont have retail access to these looks/items until TWW.
While Blizz did make a point of stating that Remix characters are going to be created on existing servers from the start, I imagine they’re not really going to be able to interact with non-Remix characters in any way. Remix Pandaria is most likely as separate from retail characters as Plunderstorm characters are.
on the questions, they have said that these characters will share the servers of our other characters.

That’s because they’ll become normal level 70 characters when TWW releases. It also stops you from running into a renaming issue since you’ll have to create a unique name in the first place. And Evoker limitations I guess. Also Plunderstorm runs ON retail, meaning the tech they’re using runs on retail patch / realms.
Stands to reason the phasing tech they’ve been refining and using since WotLK (And chromie time especially) is capable of separating things out. I’m sure it won’t be perfect though, but yeah.

Not as much as Remix characters can be in the same guilds as non-Remix characters, but they will be isolated from them in every other way.
