Are these still obtainable? Like the questline for them? Someone in general chat said he thought not but wasn’t sure
Nope.
The cloaks were removed at the end of MoP, along with the entire questline to get them. Never to return.
They need to put it back into the game. There was no reason to remove it. Change the requirements or something, bit get that storyline back into the game. And let people kill Ordos.
Does that go for the legendary gems as well?
Yes. If you’ve already unlocked the cloaks/gems you can get them but, as Asana said, the entire questline was removed so you can’t get them now if you didn’t unlock them during MoP.
Ordos was a reward boss for those whom worked and did get their cloak before the xpac expired. Blizzard at the time did everything possible to speed up and make getting the cloak easy before they removed it. Just like many things in WoW that have been time sensitive, and been removed from being obtainable.
I have no issue with them adding back the quest chain, but with absolutely no legendary cloak reward tied to them. The cloak is gone, those who have it, collect dust in their bank. Those that don’t have it, sorry that you missed out, but it was a MoP only item.
Sorry, but that’s not how raid bosses work. Blizzard even said they would make Ordos open to everyone once the cloak was gone. And then they didn’t. Which screwed over a lot of people.
There’s no reason to gate anyone from a raid boss ever. This isn’t a challenge mode. And the only thing he drops is non-set tier look alike pieces that aren’t class locked, which are also sometimes available on the BMAH. So why do you care if everyone can kill a raid boss, like they can kill every single other raid boss in this game?
Legendaries were never removed from the game prior to this and never should be.
Sadly, no.
Also removed.
Also you cannot access the world boss associated with it.

You can still kill Ordos without the cloak via cheese methods. But he doesn’t drop any loot and won’t give you the achieve.
They should allow people to go back & do the quests, same as you can for the rogue daggers, firelands staff, shadowmourne, etc etc etc. Silly to have removed it in the first place.
Because the boss was made as an incentive to get people to stop procrastinating on getting the cloak, because they was hoping to go back and farm it when it was a face roll and you know that to be the truth.
Doesn’t it port you out now? I think they patched that. You could back then goblin glide or comet in but now it insta-ports you when you are about to land.
Which BTW I might add…
it blocks people out of a META achievement as well.
Where Ordos is has always ported people out that didn’t have the cloak. Blizzard only patched a few cheese methods of getting to him without it towards the end of MoP.
lol no they didn’t. Please throw a link where it says that. No one “procrastinated” on the cloak. The cloak was gated behind patches.
It really wasn’t. I’m not even sure where you got that from.
Who cares? I can go back and farm other legendaries now that they’re faceroll, too. These aren’t challenge modes, they’re legendaries.
Why do you care so much about trying to keep people from getting a cloak that can’t be used as transmog, but somehow it’s okay to have Fangs of the Father, Warglaives of Azinoth, Tarecgosa’s Rest, etc.?
You’re purposely keeping people from a meta achievement for what?
They made it clear at the time, No Cloak, No Ordos. Stop being stupid with the but, but, but I want it changed.
Ordos was a reward boss for those that had the cloak and it should remain that way even now that MoP is year and years in the past.
They said they were going to provide access to Ordos, but they didn’t.
Ordos has nothing to do with the META achievement you can’t get either as a by product of a bad game design decision. And yet here we are.
Nothing is written in stone with this company. Not even their own statements. Pointing out the discrepancies is not unreasonable.
Sorry you need validation through denial of game play to others.
So you’ll ignore where they said they were going to remove that requirement, eh? Ordos was just a raid boss. Nothing more than that. Part of a questline that was removed for no reason.
Once more I’ll ask you: why do you care so much about a cloak that can’t be transmogged and a boss that doesn’t drop anything unique?
