I missed tbc both times now, 2007 & 2020 or w/e. So at least i’ll get to triple garrote some nerds this time.
This is my main issue tbh. I don’t think I queued into a single afflock for my entire time playing wotlkc (only s7 and s8 tbf) we all know aff is strong in wotlk, but the meta gets defined and nobody has the initiative to try something different. Bunch of losers on dead realms in dead queues too scared to branch out and have fun.
no rshams. no rdruids. no afflocks. no assassination rogues. etc.
i’m sure MoP will be nothing but godcomp / wmd / MLP / other safe & strong comps with very little variety. Turbo. Thunder.
I wish I knew an ele sham on cata. I wanna play heroic rmp lol.
Only good thing to come out of classic is I’ve had the chance to queue into people I’d never queue into on retail even if I did play. Including old timers like Akrios. fun stuff.
Like retail if there was actually zero effort put in to balancing. People cope and act like retail ladder is comparable to any iteration of the relaunched xpac ladders.
Idk about that. Jungle, cupid, and thug were actually solid A tier comps even towards the end of the xpac. Enh comps were rarely seen because the specs that they could play with performed better with a other classes. Kinda like how DK could get replaced by a war and the comp would be noticeably better.
I think OG wotlk allowed aff to showcase more of its potency because the meta was still being “defined” per se. With wotlk classic, people already knew what was superior right from the release. You had maybe 1 or 2 off meta comps that surprised people here and there, but most players gravitated towards the meta comps because of their high success rate and how difficult it was to lose playing those comps into virtually any other comp.
Idr turbo being prevalent in MoP. Thunder was def a lot stronger late MoP. You had a pretty good mix of everything late MoP, but the ones that stood out (besides lock/sham/x) were jungle, god, kfc, wmx, and rmd. There was definitely a lot more variety later in the xpac.
TBC was actually goated and I will die on this hill. All I wanted was them to say SOD was going to go to TBC but I guess new vanilla content is good too.
when has RMP been good besides shadowlands and onwards (i have no idea about dragonflight to now since i retired from retail pvp slop)?
historically i feel the comp with the traditional specs (not the mutilate/fire/hpally dumbed-down version) has been very overrated, overhyped and held in high regard as the epitome of skill in pvp but in retrospect after the classic expacs it was never that great
i believe LSD_ variants will continue to be a staple in the mop arena scene along with the forgotten and late-blooming comp HLS, but it’s been such a long time since, players are different, arena tech advanced we may see some strange comps arise which were unheard of
Rmp was also the strongest staple comp all of slands along with ret/war, turbo, jungle, and boomy+dh (RIP ozzthegreat).
Dragonflight was actually the first time rmp was just good as opposed to great and even then arcane + outlaw was literally rank 1 on the ladder for two seasons.
