MoP Digital Upgrade

I know that this isn’t a top priority, but I have question regarding the MoP digital upgrade.

Also, this isn’t a place to debate the merits of cash shop items. Please take any such discussions elsewhere.

To my knowledge, this was the first time that the digital components of a WoW expansion were available as a “digital upgrade”. After a certain time, the item was retired from the shop.

However, in subsequent expansions, the digital upgrades were left in the shop, to this day. A new player today can grab the digital content from WoD, Legion and BFA.

So to me, it seems that this is a policy that evolved as time went on. For this first one, it was made a limited time offer, but the stance was later changed to let subsequent upgrades stay available for ever.

So, my question is, is there a particular reason why the MoP digital upgrade couldn’t come back at some point?

TLDR : All digital upgrades since WoD are still on cash shop. Is there a reason why MoP digital upgrade couldn’t come back one day?

I think just because it didnt start that way. I doubt support the cash shop but blizz is kind of stubborn about changing anything they set up.

Right.

My question was more in terms of seeing if there are any conditions I’m missing.

For exemple, people love saying that Tyrael’s Charger can’t be made available on the cash shop in NA (even if it is available in another region), because the conditions of the offer under which it was available prevent it from being offered again.

So, aside from stubborness, do we know if there is some contractual or statutory obligation that would prevent the upgrade from being made available again?

There isn’t any contractual conditions on anything in wow its all just arbitrary.

That is simply incorrect.

Anything in game, you are correct.

Anything purchased with real money, there is a very long list of contractual conditions. On top of that, when items come from promotions, each country/state has a bunch of different laws that come in and add extra complications.

I have the mop stuff. I bought the collector’s edition box. The pet and mount are pretty dull by today’s standards

Oooooo, good idea! I’d convert some gold to blizzard balance to buy that

Was MoP called Limited Edition or Deluxe Edition? It might be some difference in wording during the promotion.

I actually just found this page : https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/13120780/mists-of-pandaria-digital-deluxe-edition-heading-into-the-blizzard-archive

It says that the Digital Deluxe Edition might come back available for purchase at some point.

So, by Blizzard’s own admission, this doesn’t seem to be a Tyrael’s Charger situation. This is one that could be brought back anything they would like.
