After questing in Silithus, I noticed that I can’t use some defensive mage spells like Invisibility and Ice Block. I get the error, “You can’t do that while holding the flag”. I’ve logged out, as well as disabled all addons (just in case), but no change. This occurs no matter what area I am in, and even when I’m teleported to dungeons via dungeon finder.
Sounds like you activated a silithyst geyser.
I did, and I understand receiving that message in Silithus, but I’m receiving it everywhere.
Dying usually clears debuffs that don’t want to go away. Don’t know how else to help you troubleshoot it, I don’t play classic.
For no reason at all, spells are working properly again today. Luckily I’m past Silithus quests, I won’t be going back there for a while…
Same thing happened to my druid. Ran Silithyst for the quest and then couldn’t stealth. Tried swapping specs, leaving the zone and coming back, closed the game and restarted, hearthed and changed my hearth (Teldrasil to Dalaran) and nothing seemed to work for at least an hour, probably longer.
Eventually I hearthed to Dal, tried to shift, then logged out and back in, and was able to. Not sure if it’s an issue of time to wear off or if the change to a different xpac’s content helped, but it did go away.
Currently have this issue with my rogue.
