yea for a year til they close the servers defeating the purpose of classic servers
If wrath didn’t nothing will.
wrath giga overrated only rmp fiends and fanboys thought it was the best
I’m genuinely looking forward to MoP classic.
I never played MoP, but people always say MoP and Wotk were the best.
I probably wont play it. But I want to see how people react to MoP compared to wrath
Ahahahaha. That is all.
As much as I enjoyed MoP, and would play it if/when it’s released, MoP was horrible in comparison to Dragonflight, in pretty much every way.
Even in the good seasons (14 and 15), god comp was half or more of the ladder, and the amount of cc that there was in MoP would have most (especially casuals) malding hard.
Thinking MoP is going to save anything is just the result of wearing rose-colored glasses (or whatever that expression is). There will at best be slightly more participation in MoP arena compared to the amount of participation that wotlk arena has now.
This is just the truth (and again, don’t get me wrong, I would love to play MoP for nostalgia, but MoP being the savior of arena is just silly).
Seasons 12 and 13 were a joke (shoutout though to season 12 KFC for my first 2200 while having half my abilities not keybound and still keyboard turning). Good times
nothing is worse than dragonflight
both seasons were pretty diverse you got some mandela effect goin on surrounding god comp. almost guaranteed we’ll see a few comps emerge that’ll be top tier which weren’t thought of back in the day, as well as HLS that ended up being top 3 but wasn’t figured out until the end of season 15.
what’ll save wow pvp? war within? cope. same cope every expansion i am a very good pattern recognizer and believe me, it’s only getting worse. once you have a deeper understanding of the framework retail wow is built upon it’s very clear pvp will never recover.
game will start with season 15 tuning.
perhaps lol since I was playing hpal, but either way, all of the things people complain about now, were worse in MoP (cc, burst, etc., gear advantage (e.g., weapons) locked behind rating, difficult for casuals to obtain rewards (e.g., elite set 2200 and enchant 2400), etc.).
The only thing I can think of that was necessarily better was dampening (I can’t even remember if it existed tbh, so healing felt great compared to now).
Guess this is subjective, but aside from the ret rework fiasco, imo SL and BfA were significantly worse. Legion random legendaries alone that defined certain specs all it took to make that worse imo, not to mention the templates if you didn’t like those. Not going to get started on the mandatory pve chores and infinite borrowed power grinds that came with those expansions, pve gear being bis also rofl, and several specs having actual 1 shot capability throughout each of the above expansions.
Personally I enjoyed MoP/WoD pvp, but again, they were still both far from perfect, and not nearly as good as dragonflight.
I never said wow pvp needed saving did I? If I did, I don’t think anything will atm, outside of solo queue functionality and properly addressing healer mmr/dps queue times (classic mop certainly isn’t going to save anything rofl, especially if you will still need teams/kekw lfg to play). I just play the game for what it is, a game, not something that I expect to be able to change to my subjective ideal version of the game.
Doubt it. I think that this would be more work than Blizzard cares to do as far as adjusting gear/stats/pve around s15 tuning.
At best you should hope that they change a few things each season as far as broken/grossly overtuned specs (e.g., some of the one shot potential certain specs had like warrior, stampeded, etc.)
It really isn’t that bad.
This is the same crowd that rages about every current iteration of the game being the worst version of the game.
They can’t really be convinced otherwise. I am going to love if/when they do MoP classic for several reasons:
-
I have nostalgia too from MoP (didn’t really do the pve either).
-
It’s going to be less popular than any iteration of retail arena since BfA, so we’ll finally get to stop hearing about how perfect/close to perfect MoP was, when in all reality it wasn’t.
-
Getting to see all the new complaint threads about how x, y, z in mop is broken, mop is dead (so the rewards being relatively easy for casuals in s15 probably won’t be the case for the classic version, etc.)
was considered the 2nd worst healer above disc in s15
cc was a little absurd i will admit, blizzard never established a happy medium between wrath cc and modern wow (last 4 expansions) but mop was closest, wod was a little too far pruned, slow and scripted. now burst? lol, lmao, shadowlands and most of all, dragonflight blow mop burst out of the water by 400 miles rofl. better weapons locked behind rating wasn’t a thing in mop the last expac for that was cata.
shadowlands is dragonflightlite with much more integrity
didn’t matter in pvp
lesser of two evils
this is what killed pvp, major cope
all classic versions of wow used the very last patch as the starting baseline
it is tho. source: participation numbers, personal experience and observation of the community (95% of people i know quit, the few tournament players that remain complain all day on stream and twitter about how dead the game is)
I wish they skipped Cata and went straight to MoP so I can do Challenge Modes again
There’s a chance they might be doing something involving CMs in a future DF patch here.
I would love to be able to do those CMs myself. Some of the best mogs that Blizzard has ever made, especially mage and paladin. Would love to get them.
MoP started today’s problem with cds, reduntant mobility, too many instant casts to deal with said dumb mobility, etc.
It really did screw many things.
I have to agree about dragonflight. I started in wrath and have played every expansion since and dragonflight is the worst expansion in my opinion. Not just pvp, but the entire expansion
healing s15 vs god comp just about put me in a mental facility
I agree for the most part.
DF PvP is not the best, but it’s clear the devs are trying and experimenting with ways to improve it for once.
People really need to take a look back at Shadowlands if they need to see what bad PvP was like.
There was no frequent tuning, everything was a 1 shot fiesta, covenant system issues (thankfully fixed when we could swap freely), and we needed to PvE to get renown stuff for a while.
DF PvP on the other hand… you can gear up extremely easy, can help gear your alts super easy from playing your main character, and absolutely zero borrowed power system holding you back. We are getting frequent tuning based on community feedback, etc.
As much as I loved MoP PvP, I think a lot of people forget the conquest caps based on rating and other nuances that came with it. The classes felt much better to play, but everything was a little more homogenized.
MoP and WoD PvP will always be my favorite, but Blizzard is on the right track to make PvP better than both of those if they invest more into PvP, and DF (while not there yet) is on the right track to do it.
