MOP classic pvp already dead?

funny that the streamers who told me it was peak wow arent even streaming anymore. they are streaming BF6 now.

Why do we care about streamers again or what they’re doing?

Definitely not dead, ques pretty quick (under 1min) up until around 2500 mmr in 3v3

Having a blast, MOP/classic lovers should definitely give it a go

I can’t mop right now, I’m on my break.

Yes it’s dead. Blizzard paid streamers to play classic to hype it up. The problem with this is that MoP sucks and no one is going to stick around for it.

Agreed. Permanent cc, super slow. Things just not dying.

It really just seems like a relic of nostalgia and worse play that makes people remember it differently IMO.

I haven’t made it to 90 yet because I cba to level so slow on my Rdru that my friend wants me to heal on. Fire mage is fun so it’s not bad but still no flying and slow leveling is just the cherry on top of not being inspired after watching arenas from the streamers and realizing retail is amazing lol

I quit BUT mop is great. Damage feels impactful, class design is great. Classes feel SO fun to play in a vacuum, but once you start qing into mages/rdruids it’s just horrible. Kinda like retail ig

The simps do. Simps everywhere.

Can’t quote cause my phone is being dumb. I think people have proven again and again with classic that they don’t know what they want.

I also think it’s probably a good indication that there’s just two target demographics for pvp, people who want something close to what TBC through mop offers and people who’ve adapted and prefer the modern approach.

I hate mop as it ruined wow, but I think chalking it all up to nostalgia is reductive.

A format still using the old outdated systemic issues who would have thought. No LFG. No SS. No cross faction qing

I think mop originally had lfg the classic team is just allergic to a bunch of things.

Like we should have x-realm to see all the other server players and group based layering, but instead we just have layering and you can’t play in other servers so the world is just dead as everyone is segregated for population fix methods for problems that don’t even exist anymore.

They couldn’t even figure out how to un-layer the vendors so they had to move them. Really pathetic tbh

They will say WoD was peak PvP soon.

It is just the fact that s1 in mop didnt have base resil it still used the old system so its extremely damp even at full gear, every comp also has to have a warrior or hunter in it due to how strong those classes are and the amount of utility they have.

Its funny my friends were complaining about arms during the s1-s2 prepatch where they would kill things with huge mortal strikes and be unpeelable then turn around and said mop pvp was great when there are multiple specs doing exactly the same just at a slower rate on mop.

You also need to realise half the people saying mop was amazing are the people who peaked in that expansion and were complaining about cata being easier and less fun then mop to me.

I guess my point is retail has all the QOL changes to keep participation as high as possible and still struggles. Going to classic which has a smaller population and being like “we should limit these things” seems like expansion suicide

Yeah I meant to add in I agree 1000%

I was just pointing out mop was the QoL expansion that added a lot of these features that oddly aren’t present in classic MoP.

Original mop had layering phasing issues but since the game still had millions of players it was whatever

When your server pops are in the single digit thousands you gotta rethink layering
