[Mop Classic pre-patch] Anyone having issues with some textures not displaying?

I have an rtx 3060 ever since the patch some textures haven’t loaded in a few dungeons. mostly having the issue in Halls of Origination and Vortex Pinnacle. my gpu drivers are all up to date and i have tried lowering and turning settings off to see if it fixes it. Also already ran a repair on the client. I did opt in for the HD textures during cataclysm.

I would include a screenshot but I’m not allowed to post links. But I’ll try to describe my issue; instead of where stairs should be I’m getting 3 thick grey lines and 2 thick white lines. In the Vault of Lights room a lot of the platforms where the troggs pat are also just thick white and grey checkered boxes.

Yes, its HORRIBLE, all glass textures in cata dungeons have checkerboard patterns that flicker

yes, i’m having that issue too! Well of Eternity is another dungeon where it’s really bad. the Queen Azshara area is all broken textures.

Im having performance issues due to textures im on an RTX 4090 and its frustrating how many random freezes i get

Try typing in-game:

/console useHighResTextures 0

Apparently it’s an issue if you had HD textures turned on previously. Now there is no way to turn HD textures on or off from the options, but that command turns them off and it seemed to help the ramp textures etc. Good luck!

thank you, that fixed it! so the issue seems to be due to opting in for the HD textures.

Came in here to complain of the same issue - borderline seizure inducing texture flickering in Cata dungeons… this completely resolved it. Thank you Tinkamonk!

Not even borderline, I literally had to close the game because it made me blind, as an epileptic. Indie Company btw.

This is a known issue with the High Defintion textures and transparent surfaces. We’re aware of it and working on it.

You can remove them using the Battle.net Desktop Application:

  1. Open the Battle.net Desktop App.
  2. Select WoW Classic → Cataclysm Classic under Game Version.
  3. Click the cogwheel to the right of the Play button and select Modify Install.
  4. Click the Modify Install link.
  5. Uncheck High Definition Textures and select confirm.

The High Definition textures will be removed.
