Moonguard Tradechat Rules

Moonguard Tradechat is the last flicker of original Tradechat and barrenschat. It never really died you just need to know where to look. Oh and moonguard is better than your server! Also I will not have time to respond to any moonguard trash talk because I’ll be at the goldshire inn.

I just move all the trade chats to their own tab and then never go there (as a F2P I can’t post to the trade chats anyway).

I came here looking for the Rules of Trade Chat but I guess you mean “Trade Chat Rules!” as in, an expression of appreciation. That’s fine, but maybe we could set some limits and conduct expectations, too.

Trade is unfortunately just a wall of spam advertisements for raid runs. ;-;

As long as you don’t bring in Politic stuff too much or something or words that hurts some people who are LGBT. You’ll be fine in Trade Chat.

Trade Chat is usually just a fight channel + bots spamming raid runs. There are No Rules!!! Only time I go into Trade Chat is when in a bad mood and want to fan the flames having a bit of entertainment saying anything Un-Mainstream ie not normal, trending. Like old school days with kids who still have not grown up. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I was going to give you a heart, but you’re one of those Goldshire people.

I’m sick of pretending that toxicity is an acceptable personality trait in the gaming community. Trade chat is the epitome of everything that’s wrong with WoW’s community and is a stain on our server. The sheer lack of empathy, dog whistles, and toxic behavior is the worst of the worst among us. The losers that sit in trade chat all day spouting hateful garbage don’t belong on a server which, at its core is built on a vibrant community of creative and insightful gamers. What actually “rules” are the deep, lasting friendships we forge when we build positive communication through gameplay and writing meaningful stories to each other.

Honestly this is Moonguard and people know what they are signing up for when they log into this depraved server. The denizens of moonguard should be free to communicate as needed. The one thing that does need to go is that stupid gold only spam in trade chat.

Reporting people on this server for chat issues when you can simply ignore someone or put on profanity filter is just people being karens.

Yeah, no. It’s not being a “Karen” when someone is intentionally saying hatefully bigoting things in chat. That sentiment doesn’t belong in any society, even a gaming one.

You ever notice this always seems to go one way? Your feelings don’t matter at all, it’s always theirs. “I should be able to say mean things and you can’t do anything about it!” It’s crazy how the internet has given people this idea that they can act however they want towards others without any sort of consequences whatsoever for it.

I won’t iterate it here, but there’s a Mike Tyson quote that comes to mind about people being way too comfortable behind a screen.

I don’t condone hate speech at all. it’s not ok. People are going to be people. that’s why we have th eignore lists and the profanity filters. We also do in fact have the reporting feature for extreme situations.

However this issue isn’t just limited to hate speech. people are getting banned for just cussing. Some are getting reported because the person who reported them just doesn’t like him. and it’s happening to both factions lately. That’s the problem.

>Person agrees to ToU that since the launch of the game has said you can be banned for cursing
>Gets banned when they curse and are reported

The simple solution here to just not curse in trade chat. As the people on the CS forums like saying, to argue the profanity filter allows you to curse is to argue that someone wearing a bullet proof vest makes it legal to shoot them.

I may be misunderstanding you here but did you just compare people saying 4 letter words in a chat channel to being shot?

I didn’t know when I signed up for it and I stay away from the dens of depravity too.

I’ve also completely disabled General and Trade chats.

You are, I compared the fact the profanity filter is there to protect people who don’t want to see people using profanity and doesn’t make using it allowed to how a bulletproof vest is there to protect people who don’t want to be shot and doesn’t make shooting people allowed.

Tl;dr: Just because something exists to protect people from X doesn’t immediately make using X allowed by the rules.

And the world should not be obligated to tip toe around people who are easily offended. by words people say on the internet. Legitimate hate speech should not be tolerated and should be reported. That’s what the report button is for…

For cussing if you are that offended by 4 letter words then there are tools in game to remove yourself from those conversations. including ignore list, profanity filter, and just leaving the chat channel.

Unfortunately, if that is your opinion, you’ve agreed otherwise when you clicked yes to the ToU and it is Blizzard’s opinion that those tools you listed aren’t an excuse for cursing.

I curse all the time on Discord or IRL with friends and family. I don’t curse in WoW game chat because I agreed not to. It’s as simple as that.

so you want the world to tip toe around you because your feelings are made of glass then? Is that what you are saying?

Thanks for confirming you’re not actually reading my posts.
