This is generally one of the most annoying and overpowered things in the game, and unless you are a rogue that gets the first hit in and is able to kill them through a stun combo then you will likely just die to a druid spamming moonfire while healing themselves from a distance. Only classes I can think of that can fight against this are shamans and priests because they can remove hots consitantly. Sure a paladin healer will likely not die, but you aren’t gonna kill the druid either.
So what are some good strats to use on a druid that runs up on you and starts the moonfire healself while running away spam? You can’t escape them cause they are faster than you and you can’t chase them because they are also faster than you.
Only time I have won against this annoying strat is when I was able to death coil them into a swarm of mobs or the area we were in was too small for them to get away from fear range in time.
You’re a Warlock, if you weren’t aware.
That’s OP?
At no point in itemization progression is a Level 60 Druid going to 100->0 another Level 60 (much less a Warlock) via Moonfire spam.
Fear has a 20 yard range moonfire has a 30 yard range
Void sac > Hearthstone.
You’ve never fought a druid then I guess, as long as they can keep distance from you they can spam moonfire non stop and heal themselves with 0 worry.
I always love the people who assume a warlock has every single pet out all of the time.
“YoU’Ve NeVeR FoUghT a DrUId HaVe YoU”
No, not once in 15 years. I certainly don’t play a Druid either.
I know right, if I’m out farming I have a pet for fighting mobs or have saced one assist with the endeavor. And it’s not like fel hunter silence stops a druid from travel form running away til they can heal up.
There is reason why they are called Moonkins for reason lmao
Looks like you found a druid who is actually worked out how damn good they really are in PVP.
PS that is the strength of a druid, the ability to just run away and heal almost endlessly while taunting you preventing you from doing anything.
The only thing most classes can do is pop a Fap / Rocket helm and dip out.
Well if you believe that they are just push overs especially in classic then I believe your statement.
For about 10 seconds, then they’re out of mana, but sure.
Sure they can. It’ll take a long time but if you keep the warlock in combat constantly you can kite them and whittle them down. And with enough +damage or +mana regen they’ll simply outlast the warlock.
Not much a lock can do against it either, a succubus will only work when the druid is not in a form and the felhunter can remove the dot part of the moonfire and stop a heal or two. But the druid just needs to run off a bit, heal, come in, moonfire, rinse repeat.
Best chance a lock has is to be a Master Demonologist lock with a felhunter for the resists. But that’s a pretty narrow chance with a talent most locks don’t take.
This is a PEBKAC situation and nothing more.
Then you are doing it wrong if you go oom, plus you have inervate and if you are in decent resto gear lot’s of mana regen, moonfire doesn’t cost that much.
This sandbox scenario does not play out in reality. If a Warlock is getting spammed with Moonfire, allows the Druid to escape, heal/drink to full, then re-engage, this isn’t any indication that “MOONFIRE SPAM OMG” is the problem here.
That’s how they fight usually tho.
Kite you while having moonfire/swarm on you, and try to range you.
Do you get mad at warriors for charging you or rogues from stunning you?
“Decent resto gear” … with exactly how much +spellpower?
