Moons Wells are nothing more than the Night Elf equivalent of a methadone clinic with no cessation program.
The Moons Wells of Azeroth need to be corrupted or destroyed as to highlight that NEs are mana addicted fiends that won’t admit it.
Oh you just now discovered that elves are drug addicted? All elves are and they even evolve defending which substance they are “eating”

Elves are Azeroth’s primal addicts. Poor dark trolls. Took one hit of primal juju, saw Elune, and never been the same since.
They dont want to listen to us when we say that nature is in fact evil and the forests should be turned into a desolate wasteland if they know whats good for them.
Dont want those Ancients to start thinking like Botani…
In fact lets just uplift some rats to help crash the moons. Cant trust Elune. Only the bones.
I dunno. You’ve got nelves who live without being near moonwells at all and destruction of a moonwell doesn’t make them start having the shakes like taking away a Nightborne’s source of magic (before their whole species got cured by a night elf).

Yeah, it comes across more like the Moonwells are a case of Nature energies from Nordrassil balancing and stabilizing the arcane energy of the Well beneath it to make it non-addictive.
Like how the Arcan’dor balanced arcane energy from the leylines with its own Nature energy to produce fruit that imparts the same effect to the Nightborne who eat it, curing them of their addiction to the Nightwell.

Moon wells are powerful magic sources, but are used solely for worship and druidic purposes, which are not addicitive, even though Mages are allowed in night elf society nowadays, moon wells can’t be used for the arcane.
So yeah, Night Elves aren’t addicted to anything (maybe tyrande is a bit addicted to going to the gym nowadays, and Demon hunters are addicted to edgy one liners).

You know the first step to get free of your addiction is to admit you are addicted.
Stop lying to yourself we all know you night elves are addicted to elune “grace” tyrande a few years ago almost died from consuming too much “grace” she was so high that even her eyes changed colors!
We know that besides elune’s “grace” you night elves are all weed lovers! Every now and then you guys are planting a new “tree”
All of azeroth knows that it is a ruse to keep planting weed for your ppl “secret” addiction.
