Dunno if it’s happening on any other servers right now but Stormwind in Moon Guard keeps on DCing at less than 5 minute intervals.
It’s not just me, it just crashed a whole event.

I don’t think there is much CS can do to help in that regards, if experiencing disconnections, might be best to post it in Technical support. You can actually edit the thread and move it yourself over to the correct section of the forums too.
Ever since last night at around 10pm EST, 7pm PST I would get constant dcs for no reason. It isn’t just me, a bunch of my friends on Moonguard keep getting random sporadic dcs. Even at 5:40am when there’s no people around I still got hit with a random DC. It’s getting where it’s annoying to even try to be online. I’d like to be able to play the game please and thanks.
For me the constant DCs were in Stormwind
It was happening to me on Trollbane yesterday when I was last playing as well - in an hour I got disconnected about 4 times. Then my latency started getting ridiculous over 2000ms so I had to stop playing. Haven’t tried this morning yet.
This is happening wide-spread on Moon Guard, and for many on other realms as well if my friends complaints are anything to go by.
I’ve seen it happen in Stormwind, Duskwood, Westfall, and The Broken Isles, each time everyone around me complained they had also DC’d.
Happening to myself, my wife, and our friends as well. Specifically just Moon Guard’s Stormwind, for whatever strange reason. Wife’s Horde main didn’t get DC’d all night on Wyrmrest Accord Orgrimmar, and I didn’t experience any disconnections while leveling some low level alts out in the world nor when I was doing stuff in the Dragon Isles or Valdrakken.
We routinely DC every 5~10 minutes pretty consistently in Moon Guard Stormwind, however, since last night. It’s very frustrating, as we all enjoy hanging out in Stormwind later in the day to look around at TRPs or ongoing RP between the Mage District and Lion’s Rest.
I would advise others who are experiencing lots of DC’s on Moon Guard - be it specifically in Stormwind, or elsewhere with confirmation from others that it is affecting them - to start passing this thread around if possible! There are far too few replies here when this seems to be a very widespread problem, if General and /yell chat are anything to go by in Stormwind every time I log back in after one.
And unfortunately, Blizzard is known for ignoring RP realms sometimes until we shout their ear off about it.
Let’s be honest though, complaining without posting the required technical documents is also why thread get ignored. Do the winmtr or the pingplotter as described in the stickies and post it. That’s how the information gets provided for troubleshooting.
report it in game as a bug - give them server time and location. Having a 100 of those is far more effective than a thread
My apologies, but if such instructions on how to perform those things exist in the stickied threads at the top of this forum board - I did not come across them when reading through them.
Regardless, I do not believe this is an issue that individual ping routes would help resolve. This seems to be a widespread issue for a large number of players on Moon Guard, all happening at near the same times (at least, in Stormwind), and bringing with it a number of known back-end issues such as hanging load times, ‘A character with that name already exists’, and etc. It seems like the mass disconnections may be related to some issue with Blizzard’s back-end, likely something going wrong after the latest patch implementation - as that is when all of this started, I believe.
Furthermore, while I understand your attempts to help - given the nature of this issue seemingly being related to the back-end (we can surmise, at least), I do not think player attempts at trying to ‘solve’ this issue for others is warranted. This is something that, preferably, a Blizzard developer or QA member will address. So, respectfully, I would prefer to wait on/continue to ask for their notice on this issue, rather than taking player advice on how to ‘solve’ an issue that does not seem player-side to begin with!
I may start doing just that, and I’ll get the wife to help/suggest it to our friends. I can only hope something will get eyes on the issue, as it only began happening after the recent patch. So I assume it is just another of the many bugs plaguing the game after 10.2.7’s implementation.
I suppose I’ll be avoiding Stormwind for extended periods of time until this is addressed, otherwise. Unfortunate.
Tech Support is a player-help-player area. If you want to report something you suspect is a bug, it would go in Bug Report.
Connection, Installation, or Voice Chat problems include this as well:
Some Pingplotter tests 52 to the server group you’re playing on. If you can’t log into the game, just run the test for 5 minutes while having login issues. Otherwise, run these tests while the problem is actively happening. If you catch a disconnection or latency issue with the test, it will make it easier for us to find the problem.
