Monks need more purpose then just being from pandaria. What do you guys think

I do think it would be interesting to see more races’ takes on monks instead of every single set being Pandaria themed, tbh.
Like the boss from the revamp of Scarlet Monastery. It would be a nice bit of flavor.

All monk abilities are from pandaria, and they litterally had to use these techniques to overthrow their oppressors and survive.
They would by default be the best techniques to learn from.
A monks purpose is to bring alcohol to the party

I think the reason that so many players are turned off from playing (or even liking) Monk is because of the Pandaren associations. The Tiger Palm ability has a paw icon, Spinning Crane Kick also has a paw, etc.
And some edgy players don’t like pandaren because “lul kung fu panda” and because they want to play way cooler races like a rotting corpse or an earth-worshipping Hulk.
All that aside, yeah, I agree that now that the Monk class has gone beyond Pandaria and new cultures are adopting it, the class shouldn’t be as heavily tied to Pandaria/pandaren culture.

But monks do need something. I’m not sure what they need, per se. But they have a lot of buttons that do very little. It seems like they are undertuned.
Pandaren monks have been traveling the world and teaching their techniques, they are the ultimate monks as per their origin and why it started to exist in the first place.
If anyone dislikes pandaren they just need to get over it, they are a fantastic and deep race.

Racial options for class aesthetics would be nice. Some Light flavor for human pandaren. More fiery spells for tauren paladin. That sort of thing.
That might be true, but if monks were tuned to be THE strongest class hands-down people wouldn’t care that they’re not edgy. I think it’s a combination of the feel of the class and its relative strength.

More options never hurt. Ally/Horde could learn the teachings then go back home and teach it to the young and it evolve past just being pandas.

It wouldnt be evolving it, and I bet they would just pass on the pandaren teachings as well.
There will always be a pandaren origin and yall need to get over it, they arent a bad race.

The first monks in wow I saw where Dreanei in a dungeon in BC.
And the most powerful monks are from pandaria and they developed the techniques in desperation as slaves as a last ditch effort to liberate themselves, and they only gotten stronger from there.
They are the strongest monks and the ones we should be learning from.
