Hell is freezing for two reasons:

-monk finally gets to use their weapons again
-they got a glyph!?

From a lore perspective — It’s rather weird that a glyph of all things allows them to use weapons instead of bare-hands. lol

I mean historically monks have used weapons as well as fists, both in WoW and in the real world.

I mean otherwise what’s the point of monks even getting weapons? It’s just a glorified stat stick.

So happy for this. I loved in MoP how my jab changed depending on my equipped weapon. Cant wait to use this

Meanwhile I want an invisible staff mog similar to the invisible fist weapon mogs. I dont want my monk to ever use or even show a weapon.

I definitely wont be using it…but I guess it’s good to have options for those that wanted to use weapons

I would keep my weapons hidden all the time if we didn’t constantly end up with a 2-hander bis

That’s still to be seen. They just made it modify damage for 2 abilities but it still has little affect on the rest of how monks play.

Sad to say…that one never dropped for my monk. Requires the nightborne escorting the withered thing and never got it…always felt being punched in the face by a giant stone fist would be quite devastating to my foes too. Then again… considering I farmed for the dragonslayer axes for my warrior maybe I should try farming for those stone fists on my monk again… just to say i got them if anything

I still want full on staff usage like Chen in the MoP cinematic. Not just a weird back ornament that gets pulled out occasionally.

They get another racial +800%haste on top of the stat buffs.

Now if they could just find a way to incorporate that into casters’ animations.

Well from a lore perspective Monks started out barehanded in the first place because the Mogu that enslaved them didn’t allow them to have anything that could be used as a weapon. They successfully rebelled with nothing but their mitts and only incorporated weapons later.

All Blizzard is doing is reversing a change made during Legion. In MoP and WoD, Jab was our generator (with TP being a different ability that had a stacking armor pen debuff) and used whatever weapon you had in your main hand, complete with a change of animation and even the name of the ability. There was a glyph (also called Glyph of Jab) that made it function like TP today where you strike with your hands no matter what weapon you have.

What I really want is for this to cover FoF too so that it has you jab or slash wildly. Think Million Stab/Million Slash from Devil May Cry.
