Monk Tier Set: Noose around the neck needs to go

The Coil of rope around the neck on the chestpiece needs to be moved to the headpiece or completely deleted from the model. It looks like a noose, and really is out of place. Aside from the visual it gives, Not only that though, it completely undermines the rest of the look.

I reckon it should of been tied to the helmet. As it stands however, it does make one question if the Monk is planning to hang themselves at some point. Because of it, I suspect this will likely just make most players opt to use a different chest for the top which is a shame because it is otherwise a decent looking and unique chestpiece.

Additionally the female model needs it’s dragon Tattoos reimagined.
They are all but concealed by the shoulders and extra armor used to cover their chests (which is totally understandable).

Needs a little more work guys, but otherwise good stuff.

I don’t see a noose. I see a crude rope necklace, which does tie in aesthetically with the rope belt, bracers and feet.

Should be on the helmet, not the chestpiece.

The set is also adorned in the same kind of ropes on the wrists, ankles and belt. And the belt has the same ornate looking decoration on the end. It all fits together.

Without the context of the rest of the set, yeah I could see how it could look like a noose. Just a strangely ornate one. But as a whole, nah.

Also, I bloody love this set. The detailing on the pants and cloak are beautiful. And I’m always down for big dragon tattoos.

Would look better without it anyway IMO. Unnecessarily covers up and draws attention from the beautiful tattoos.

I get strong DBZ vibes.

Dragon, Dragon, here comes the Dragon. Dragon Baaaaaaaaaaaall Z.

With the orange colour and that hair, absolutely. But the tattoos also kinda reminds me of Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 1.

Actually we should be able to use that chest piece for a lot of cool transmogs.

At least on the PTR, the Monk chest appearance is available as an off-piece in the raid so other leather classes will have access to the dragon tats.

Oh I’m agreement with you on the intent they had for the design. But it’s purpose appears to be when looking at the full set is to secure the helmet. Chinese Hats often use that. But the issue I’m pointing out is that when Helm is hidden, it’s really not because you have this awkward collar or rope around the player’s neck that serves literally no purpose.

Because of that I think either the rope on the neck needs to be moved to being a part of the helmet that it actually is meant to function with, or they should make a second model that does not have the neck rope, similar to how they often give Mages a robe and pant option. It’s really not much to ask as the rest of the set is visually striking.

Would it be too much to give Monks a ‘shirt’ Tattoo either so they could keep the Tattoos as they change sets? Just saying.

That’s my point. A lot of players likely will want to use the Chestpiece, but having it tied to a neck-tie made of rope, or a noose or whatever you want to call it will basically make them decide “Nah” because of how gaudy it looks by itself, and the fact that it’s really a part of the helm that can’t be hidden by “Hide Helmet”.

If it was something smaller like say a small necklace of beads etc. it wouldn’t be so bad and tolerable. But as it stands it’s clear it’s job is to be a part of the helmet, and so it should be a part of the helmet so it can be hidden if players wish. It really sticks out like a sore thumb.
