Monk aoe reminds me of warrior aoe but without the cds. Seems like my monk is hard capped?? I dont get those big numbers like druid, mm hunter, pally, udk…
Windwalker AOE is not much more capped than other specs. “Big numbers” don’t have much to do with target caps, the higher a target cap is the more numbers you see, not the bigger ones. Target caps are just one part of the equation.
It’s just those mega pulls where everyone is popping off doing 10-20mil+ and im stuck doing 3-5 mil every pull…it’s a bit discerning. Is this typical?
Without being able to see your gear or anything, maxing out at 3-5mil seems pretty low.
Yes and no. Monk has stuff that’s capped like Conduit and whatever the hell math is going on with SotWL, but the vast majority of our AoE is just reduced past five targets. However, the fine print that is missed a lot, is that FoF is double reduced. It does like 60% damage to secondary targets, then the reduced past 5 targets is tacked onto that. There’s also that SCK is basically reliant on DoCJ procs to do anything impressive. Both of those are dumb as it renders our bread and butter for AoE kinda handicapped.
Regarding comparisons to the other classes you mentioned, I could see you doing 3-5M on the giga pulls if you didn’t have CDs. Other than that, I’d have to see your build or how you play. Maybe like a details readout of your damage sources. If it’s like a spread pull where the mobs aren’t stacked up, I could see SEF clones derping out and running off to like one add off in the distance.
Tyvm for the responses. I was almost about to bail on the monk until I did a piory the other day and had 3 mil overall with 655 gear which was comparable to the other classes I play not dk. Just got a signet and pacemaker and tightened up my rotation not blowing cd’s on cd…
And remember overall dps is not everything
