Monitor Recommendations? Struggling with Samsung OLED G9

Hey everyone,

I’m hoping to get some advice from the community here. I’ve been playing WoW on a Samsung OLED G9 (model G95SC) and while the specs on paper are amazing, I’ve been having a lot of trouble getting the game to look right.

The colors and contrast often seem off or oversaturated, and even after endless tweaks—both in-game and through the monitor’s settings—it just never looks natural. Shadows feel crushed, and some zones just look… strange. It’s starting to affect the immersion, and that’s a big deal in WoW for me.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with this monitor? Or better yet—can anyone recommend a monitor that plays really well with WoW’s art style? I’m mainly focused on immersive visuals and color accuracy over competitive performance, so 240Hz isn’t a must for me. Just want Azeroth to look as beautiful as it should.

Would love to hear your suggestions or any tips if you’ve made the G95SC work well.

Thanks in advance!

How is the light control in the room you’re playing WoW on? OLEDs tend to perform better in low light settings.

How important is an ultrawide monitor? I’ve been using an Asus PG279Q. It’s still a great display. Was a bit expensive at the time I purchased it, but it’s well worth it for the great colors.

The room I play WoW in is actually pretty dark—last time I played, it was completely black outside, so lighting wasn’t an issue at all. As for ultrawide monitors, I honestly don’t need one.
