Since this Tuesday I’ve ran a few keys on my Survival hunter alt, and the first dungeon I entered I instantly felt even more undertuned than usual. Without remembering specific numbers, I finished with ~4m DPS on the first boss of ToP, where I normally remembered finishing slightly better than that on previous runs. Again specifics might be off but I finished the dungeon at 2.6m overall instead of my usual 2.8m or whatever for that dungeon. No biggie, maybe I just had some rust or i was just off that dungeon.
Long story short, I’ve been noticing a lot less BIG hits from Mongoose bite, specifically during our 4 set procs, even with full stacks of mongoose fury.
I looked at an old +12 Priory log of mine from roughly 12 days ago, when I was 665ilvl (now 669) and decided to run another +12 Priory today just to compare the damage breakdown of the logs.
Comparing Mongoose Bite specifically, I noticed I did almost the identical amount of total damage from Mongoose Bite, despite casting it 33 times more in this recent run.
According to logs, the average hit of my Mongoose Bite in the run 12 days ago was nearly 4 million. In this most recent run, despite being 4 item levels higher, the average damage of Mongoose Bite fell to about 3 million, 1 million less damage per cast. My highest hit in the run 12 days ago was 11.3 million, my highest hit in the run today? 10.7 million.
Admittedly enough I was maybe hyper-focusing on using Mongoose Bite in this recent run, so I’ll assume I had the odd suboptimal Mongoose Bite cast in there, though I very rarely have misused it in the past. But roughly 1 million damage less on average per hit even with better gear seems wrong, not to mention my highest hit out of nearly 200 uses was less despite being a higher item level leads me to believe something isn’t right here.
