So, I did a +10 Uldaman today. It wasn’t perfect, but we timed it with 5 minutes to go, and it was my first time tanking at that level (just came back to the game, normally heal, blah blah blah).
Anyway, we had a few deaths, but nothing crazy. But at the end, once the dungeon was complete, one of the folks in the group goes:
“lol I forgot prepatch gear means no one knows how to play”
And I know it’s not a big deal, and I should honestly let it go, but it’s so bizarre to me! That player didn’t offer advice or anything throughout the dungeon, we cleared it just fine, and he got his loot, io, whatever — and he chooses to leave with a mean comment like that? I just don’t get it!
Can y’all think of any similar moments where a player’s just mean for no reason at all?

Reminds me of when Preach got upset people could get Timeless Isle gear and was ruining LFR because they were getting easy gear and didn’t know how to play cause they didn’t earn it.

Yep. These are the people who complain the loudest, the ones who offer no advice or support, then whine that the other players aren’t mind readers. PvP is full of these players.

i tend don’t do that due to the " are you paying for my account or some other lines" people would say

“Oh, that explains why you did so badly. Try to git gud in TWW”
And leave the group or block them (unless you have ties to another in the group)
Oh I can think of several but I just don’t care anymore. A few times it has reached report level stuff but that’s even more rare.
People take their 25 minutes on a video game so seriously that even a group success is someone else’s failure to them.
“U rn’t in title to muh time” folks will be along shortly.

I get my one liner in and then throw them right on ignore… then go about my day, set up a DND for him to respond into if he swaps alts, if that is the case I start reporting them each time after for harassment.
Sorry about that, I’ve seen similar tanking where we have a clean run and make it with plenty of time to spare and then the top dps says to the bottom dps “dude learn to play your clsss if you’re going to do keys.”
And the lowest dps is still pulling like 80% of what the top did, not great but not like half or anything. I wonder the same thing why would you end a run with a negative jab
Just sounds like any other random jerk. Should have pressed them for what they mean. “What about a cleared dungeon suggests people don’t know how to play?”
Or pop them on ignore and move on with life. The better way.
I wouldn’t know honestly, I tend to actively tune out people when I get the feeling what they’re putting down isn’t worth picking up.
Spares me a lot of frustration I assume.
And I tend not to do it because a tank who has never been in a dungeon before and hasn’t studied it because they prefer to learn by yoloing it will usually not listen to advice and head straight toward the worst mobs in the dungeon that everybody skips because they’re not even on the path to the first boss.
Plenty over the course of my time playing WoW, they get ignored (and reported depending on what was said) and I go about my day. Not worth repeating.
Is this your first time online, OP?
Well that’s a typical WoW moment for one thing. And plenty of the responses here are an indicator of that.
Does it happen often? Naw. Should you expect it to happen? Absolutely. Folks can be as crass, crude, or whatever they want (Outside of anything vulgar). Not much you can do except report it.
Though in their defense, M+ isn’t exactly where you nilly willy learn your class on the fly. That’s what normal/heroic/M0 is for. The moment you step into M+ you should know what you’re doing or be close enough to it.
Doesn’t stop anyone but still… Hitting even as low as a +2 with folks expecting a carry is mind numbing. Contributions should be equal all around.

Internet brings out the best in people OP.
Some folks can’t help themselves, just know these people are miserable IRL, so no loss putting them on ignore.
Algathar Academy +5. Season 1 or 2, don’t remember. Anyways. we’re almost at the last boss with only one wipe the whole run, plenty of time to spare and suddenly one of the DPS throws a fit about the route the tank took to get through the dungeon.
And I’m like bro, we got 15 minutes to spare, we had one wipe due to something minor, and it’s a +5, who cares?
Ah yes, whenever I beat any meta class in the charts. They will make any excuse to make it look as if it wasn’t their fault but lag, trinkets, wife aggro, etc, that directly affected their dps
It’s just the internet.
People like to use the feeling of anonymity to say things they would never have the balls to say in real life.
Was in a normal Vault last night and the RL was a 480 holy priest. He made it clear he would kick anyone under his dps so of course there were a few dps who afk’d the fight to see if the RL would kick them.
The RL kicked about 4 dps and then went on to talk about how he was going to gold parse every fight in the raid. People were making fun of the RL’s obsession with logs, so the RL kicked those people as well, replacing them quickly.
Though I only stayed for four boss fights, the 480 Hpriest never stopped talking about his god-tier parses. This person was probably trying to be funny, but going on and on about his parses in a normal raid… just why?
