Molten Core fire immunities Questions

I know we are still a ways off till we get MC, but has anyone heard anything about them changing mob immunities to certain spell schools? Was thinking of starting a warlock somewhat soon and was gonna go down the fire path and was wondering if that play-style will be moot if MC keeps fire immunities. Granted this doesn’t really matter overall since you can just change Runes and Talent respects are cheaper than regular classic, but made me wonder about it.

I figured they’d add runes for it. Mostly for Warlock tanks tho, since the best threat gen ability they have is fire damage.

Maybe a “Rune of Felfire” that increases fire damage by 10%, and ignores inherent resistances on the target?

don’t worry, you’ll be able to hit big fire elementals with your big fireball for 20,000 damage

I certainly hope so. Then again Drain Life is still immune on Mechanical Mobs in Gnomer so…

that’s the best part. we have no idea what they’re gonna change.

Chaos Bolt already passively causes all our fire damage to ignore absorb effects, but that’s completely different from immune effects.

May want to plan for just going Aff/Demo for MC in case they don’t adjust CB to also pierce immunities or add another rune with that effect.

Guess we will discover the answer in due time.

Thats odd that drain life doesnt work, didn’t they make bleeds work on mechanical mobs in Gnomer?

I’m not sure, my Drain Life experience is based purely on Techbot outside the Raid which was immune to it, so I have to assume that they didn’t change any of the mechs inside either.

Dont worry! Youll only have a hunter in the group to misdirect/tran shot/HoTL/Trueshot aura. Our dps will be much lower than tanks by then anyways.
