This was a farm well after WOTLK (I remember soloing molten core in cata for gold, and there are plenty of videos showing this.)
Myself and 2 friends decided to go through molten core for some decent gold, and were sad to find that both lucifron and magmadar dropped literally no gold. I don’t understand this change, because even soling this in ICC gear will still be slower gold per/h than already existing methods.
It would be nice to have a good incentive to go do old content with a friend/friends, but with the gold out of the picture, it’s kinda pointless, unless you want legendaries.
I used to solo TBC bosses like Magtheridon and Gruul, as well as Doomwalker and Kazzak for gold as well in Cata, however it seemed to be more of an oversight by the devs rather than a feature that you were supposed to be using.
That sucks. One of the most fun and challenging raids to solo for me as a feral druid. Cleared that thing 53 times for the eye and the gold I made from it made it worth it
I don’t really see it as an oversight. By the time we’re in cata, the amount of gold is worth even less than it is now, and it can only be done once a week. (well, at least raids.)
Yeah, I also DK soloed TBC raids at 85 for 250g a boss (got Ashes too)
I kinda figured with their unnecessarily strict policing of Classic that it would be nerfed long before I got the chance to again.
I don’t know what they’re on about, it’s not something gold farmers do. They’re more about 24/7 reset farms.
Was just a fun test of might for steady coin.
But yeah, something is really amiss that they’re trying to pigeonhole every niche playstyle out of the game. #nochanges
