What are they?

Giant Orc-Ogre hybrids whose culture centers around unity with beasts and the wild. Most notable Mok’nathal being Rexxar.

Unique Customization:

  • Masks

  • Headbands

  • Tribal jewelry

  • Tattoos/Scarring

  • Ogre Horns

Racials:

  • Animal Companion (Passive): Allows taming of Hunter pets, regardless of class.

This mechanic is primarily for Cosmetic purposes to deliver the core Mok’nathal racial fantasy. All forms of pet utility and management will be streamlined. The pet will do white auto attack damage, comparable to other races’ combat racials. The pet will not have access to Hunter Pet family abilities. The pet receives massive health regeneration, speed increase, damage reduction, and reduction to AOE CC. The pet will attack whatever the Hunter attacks and immediately charges to new targets. Additionally, the pet responds to all class mechanics (if you Stealth, it Stealths. If you Sprint, it Sprints.). Summon, Dismiss, and Revive are all instant.

Hunters still get the active racial pet, and also more stable slots.

  • Intercede (Active): 2 minute Cooldown. Your pet rushes to your defense, intercepting up to three attacks against you.

  • Beckoning Call (Passive): You mount 20% faster.

  • Beast Tamer (Passive): Allows access to Hunter Pet commands. (Fetch, Play Dead, Move To, etc.) If you don’t know associated manuals as a Hunter, you learn the commands for free.

  • Absolute Unit (Passive): Knockback effects don’t knock you back as far.

Classes:

  • Warrior
  • Hunter
  • Shaman
  • Rogue

And keeping with current trends

  • Mage
  • Priest
  • Warlock
  • Monk
  • Death Knight

Not sure DKs and Warlocks would be welcomed into this culture.

They wouldn’t, but that’s the way Blizz is doing things now.

Warrior/Rogue/Warlock/Priest/Monk/DK available to all races.

(Although, a Mok’nathal DK with Undead Pets and a Mok’nathal Warlock with fel-beast pets would look pretty cool.)

Having the character be able to tame a pet regardless of class would be pretty cool, even if the pet only dealt like 1 damage to compensate.
