Mobs have shared faction tags now?

I was doing a quest on a little one and another toon from the opposite faction was in trouble. Even though he had a decent headway on the group, my character helped him kill a couple of mobs before they killed him.

I found I got credit for the mobs and could loot them even though he had tagged them first.

Did I miss this change in the notes somewhere? (Yes, I know the answer is probably yes lol).

Hi, just here for my cookie.

Also…

I heard this was a change that was coming later, but I suppose it could already be in the game now. Keep in mind that some mobs even before prepatch worked this way, like rares and quest mobs.

If so, it’s about time.

It was always irritating having to fight other players for mobs, especially when it was your own faction. Not only will this be a lot less irritating, you can end up making some odd alliances cross faction while exploring the world! That could be fun!

Yeah it’s already implemented and I LOVE IT.
Like nothing has made me this happy besides fried chicken.

Yes.

  • Up to 5 players of any faction can tag an enemy to earn quest credit and drops (was faction specific). War Mode is unchanged.

Yes, they do. It’s been nice. Made leveling alts via WQs much less frustrating when you’re not competing. Most objectives are shared, too.

i feel like i’m probably one of the few people not a fan of it. all this means is there’s twice as many people that can tag the mobs i’m fighting and then run away to leave me to do all the work

Yeah, definitely going to happen. At the Kyrian quest where you fight aspirants and then the stronger ones, there was a Dwarf Shaman that would tag the harder aspirant and then just wait for me to kill it before moving on.

But, I also had a WQ where you pick-up one of those phials to drain elite mobs before taking them out in Revendreth. An Alliance Pandaren and I teamed-up and did it together before using /bow and going our separate. That has been the much more common occurrence for me. It’s really nice.

I hope you have positive experiences with it.

Yes, but I don’t know if I like this yet or not.

i hope so too, but i won’t hold my breath. it seems to happen almost daily, especially when i play guardian for some reason. people just see the bear and think “oh great they can do it for me”. i’m starting to shadowmeld any time someone does it lol

This is why I have a hard time enjoying Classic. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

numnumnum :poultry_leg:

Finally, no more frustration with those dang anima starved birds. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

I mean, we can, but we shouldn’t have to. Sometimes you just gotta carry players not as good as you. :bear:

I’d rather die, have to repair my equipment, and interrupt my play session than to help some scumbag :person_shrugging:

if it involves literally playing the game for them because they’re lazy, absolutely not

Some people make phat bank doing that. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

It’s about time but you can tell Shadowlands tiny WQ areas weren’t made for it. Everything gets mowed down in seconds now.
