Mobility, Survivability & Throughput

If you could only choose two, which would you pick?

mobility and throughput

Especially on tank specs.

High risk and high reward playstyles or bust

Id go fury so I can have all 3.

I didn’t clarify properly, my bad.

I mean regardless of spec, if the choice was in the player’s hand in regards to these options.

So for example by opting for throughput and mobility you would forsake all or 90% of all survivability, both passive and active ( including all tank mechanics or things u’d use to pseudo survive) , basically making you squishy af.

Opting out of throughput would reduce your damage to the level of a healer ( not the strong kind, albeit non existant).

Opting out of mobility would remove nearly all movement ability save maybe one minor thing ( think priest ).

But opting into any of these would grant you the maximum amount of any given choice possible, like the mobility of a monk/mage combined, the tankiness of an actual tank for survivability and the throughput of the highest dam. It’s basically all or nothing.

Would you still opt into the same choices?

yep, I always pick high risk and high reward playstyles wherever I can find them

irl too

I’m a dangerous person, no joke

I would pick other combinations if they lead to the same playstyle. For example, blood dk was my first m+ tank despite being in a wheelchair, but mobility + throughput is the usual combination for this especially for PVP games

Delete Rogue.

Like personally or competitively?

Tl;dr survivability>throughput>mobility

I think the number one answer is and always has to be survivability.

Time and time again, we’ve seen the strongest and most oppressive classes in the game be the ones that don’t die. This can be because they have infinite defensives to rotate or because they slow down and control the game so much or because they’re just bananas tanky.
(Rogue, sp, feral druid*, mages, warlocks ; all the highest repped tournament and ladder classes)

At every level of play, if you don’t need to be as scared of dying, it allows you to pressure others and force them to make mistakes while not be punished for your own.

Beyond that you need throughput, but not at the expense of survivability. Damage is huge, and if two classes are similarly durable, but one does more damage, every second that game goes on you’re just losing slower.

(Biggest reason mage fell out of play is that it does less damage than sp and warlock. Even though it’s very good, those classes just have to not lose and they win automatically)

Mobility is very nice, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter nearly as much as the other two.

(Basically every melee except warrior is ranged OR has infinite uptime. Also, a lot of damage is in the form of dots for several classes, so even kiting them they are still doing damage. Arcane mage has the best mobility in the game and it doesn’t matter. Also, resto druid and moonkin have the same mobility as feral druid, but they’re killed twice as often; the mobility doesn’t matter - the survivability does)
