All things being fair there is no reason to not be able to move and cast. That is just something that was arbitrarily decided to be a handicap. The ranged thing rarely equals a real tangible advantage when it comes to raw numbers in dps. Everyone does roughly the same dps. Every fight has movement mechanics. If your argument is ranged will have an advantage in certain fights that is not true unless you are BM with 100 percent movement up time. If your argument is melee dps needs a place where they shine, then every fight is their place to shine? None of those arguments make any sense. Can we just increase mobility for some caster spec that need a little love like Warlock and a few others?

Should check out the upcoming MoP Classic. Pretty much every caster can cast while moving. It was a glorious time.

Positioning and using your class skills and pet selection make or break lock.,
Skilled locks almost dont need any gear to win in PvP.
Mage almost can’t be killed by anything but really well played hunters and they can fully avoid SP’s and Locks.
SP while limited in mobility, almost can’t be killed by melee.
Start changing the way you play; casters are excellent in Vanilla.

You are addressing things from the perspective of pvp and vanilla. Neither apply to what I am talking about. I am referring to High end content on retail. Example M+ keys 10 and up. and…well…mostly just that… I probably should have said that in the title so that is on me i guess.
I do believe you’re lost then my friend because this is the Classic Era (Vanilla) forums.
Not once, as a mage, have I thought that I need to be more mobile. If you think that, then you need to work on getting better. We can attack people through trees, rocks and even mountainsides. We have instacast spells that do good damage. Mages at least can blink our ways into favorable positions. There are dots for casters that mitigate what we lose in close combat. Adding mobility would just mean game over for other classes.
