I thought with the DF pre patch horde and alliance will share mob tags? So why during the pre patch event are 3/4 of the mobs greyed out, even if tagged by my own faction? Am I missing something?

Probably because most of the mobs will be under group loot, so normally your looking at 5 man groups. Most mobs can have 5 tags on them, so for world farming you run 2 groups of 4 and have one person from each group tage the op farmed mobs. So itl count for both groups. The new events are probably maxxing out the tags as people are formed into raid groups to farm it. The big elemental elites dont have the smaller tag issue, just the lil humanoid mobs. (Ive been solo farming it and tagging everything and I only get dropped loot from the actual elite elementals)
