So you are assuming guilt and justifying harassment because…? You haven’t provided a cohesive argument other than not trusting him without evidence.
My argument for not trusting him is that his story doesn’t make sense. When someone tells you a story that doesn’t make sense, that is generally a sign that it isn’t true.
Why would a random person follow him to different layers and troll him then convince his guild to blacklist him and tell everyone on the server he is a jerk if all he did was politely ask them to level somewhere else? People typically act in self interest and that scenario requires someone go quite far out of their way to inconvenience themselves in order to hurt a random person for no discernible reason. Someone pushing themselves hard enough to reach max level within a couple of weeks of the server going live doesn’t have time to arbitrarily troll people for no reason.
Moreover, the OP’s story requires a guild full of people to be committed to arbitrary harassment without any valid reason. That is even less believable.
I’m smart enough to be skeptical of stories that don’t make sense. Why aren’t you?
Hahaha your farming spot eh? haha
No. Not your farming spot.
And by the way, the “harassment” the OP seems to be whining about amounts to no more than a group of people deciding he’s a jerk they don’t want to play with and warning others that he is a jerk and advising they avoid him as well.
That’s not harassment. That is the exact kind of social sanctioning that is supposed to happen in communities like this in order to deter toxic behavior.
Because people are d!cks
But not usually at their own expense and without any real provocation.
First of all, no place in WoW is yours. People can farm or quest where they want. If you had asked me to leave, I wouldn’t. Second, I wish people would stop throwing around the word toxic. It’s getting old.
If the guild is harassing you, file a complaint. But honestly, I’d be pissed at you if you asked me to leave a spot.
Where are said screenshots?
Exactly. Very well said.
OP’s story just doesn’t logically line up. Sure it’s possible that someone decided to waste hours of leveling time to grief someone who “politely” asked them a question. And that this persons guild also is full of people willing to waste their time to punish a polite question.
But is that really more likely than OP simply lying and trying to weasel out of the justified ramifications of their actions?
The former would be abnormal behavior that isn’t in the self interest of those involved, and frankly would just be frickin weird. The latter is something that happens literally all the time, people are constantly trying to skirt the consequences of bad behavior.
Exactly what I thought when I read that part.
What if someone has a quest there? Should the person farming leave? I disagree with you. People who play this game need to be able to deal with competition or play a single player game.
Yeah Blizz fixed this. Now Im having a hard time believing you. You conveniently just added this? Yeah, bye.
Maybe not be a tool about aoe farming spots? I’ve noticed mages are extremely entitled compared to how they used to be back when vanilla first released.
“I was here first, go away or I’m telling mommy!” Yeah, no.
Sorry dude, if I need X amount of mobs, I’m not waiting for some entitled brat to be done before I start my kills. He could have invited the other player until that player got what he needed from those mobs.
He acted like a selfish entitled 12 year old and is now paying the price.
Yup, it adds nothing to the conversation.
Most classes get to pull 1 or 2.
Why should you be entitled to pulling everything in your sight.
Flash news: you’re not.
My point still stands. Asked somebody to leave a spot that’s not considered yours.
Victim blaming? Lmao stop it, acting like this is a metoo movement or something
Officer in this guild here. We had several complaints and people warning us that inviting Ozi would be a mistake. Dude rolling need on items he couldn’t use / patterns for not his professions after others had rolled greed. Generally being rude to players, all the way back at lvl 19 in Deadmines.
We’re not blacklisting anyone. He just isn’t going to get an invite to our guild. We’re not even recruiting anymore.
Right because I for sure don’t have clips of you guys in your Discord saying that you want to create a server-wide discord to blacklist me from getting into any groups. And for reference the pattern in question was alchemy and I used it before I ended up switching professions. The generally being rude to players started after your guild members decided to troll me and say things about me that weren’t true. Your entire guild is toxic and almost the whole server knows it at this point, I’ve had about 6 meetings with the other top guilds on the server who want absolutely nothing to do with any of your members because of how this was handled from your guilds leadership.
I personally would be annoyed, sure. But I wouldn’t tell that person he can’t kill mobs here.
You do you man.
