Hey everyone, I wanted to see if I’m the only one noticing very weird mob behavior in LBRS/UBRS. The behavior I’m seeing only appears to happen in here (haven’t run the other max level dungeons yet though). What I’m seeing is random mobs from very far away aggroing during a pull, and sometimes an entire room will aggro for seemingly no reason. No proximity aggro, no random pet pulls, no fleeing mobs aggroing other mobs. I’ll just be tanking a mob and all of a sudden see a mob across the room start running at us for what looks like no reason. We just had a 10-man raid wipe to the trash in UBRS because what started out as a simple, safe pull of a SINGLE PATROL somehow turned into literally the entire room pulling to us. I’ve also seen weird behavior when trying to LoS mobs in LBRS. They will get stuck and just run in a circle and never get to me. Has anyone else noticed this?
Spent tons of time UBRS and LBRS, haven’t noticed anything like what you’re describing.
There was an issue in vanilla where everyone jumped down into “the big room” but if pets were not dismissed they’d try to path to the big room, sucking all the mobs along their path.
Ive had weird pathing issues in all of the late game dungeons from time to time. Where you pull a pack and they start running all over the room as their AI tries to find a path to you. Instead of just running to you.
I have noticed this, primarily in LBRS.
I then also noticed the following line in chat:
Bloodaxe Warmonger calls for aid!
If you have a pull that involves one of those Warmonger, make sure you pull them well away from any other packs, or you’re going to have a bad time.
Can agree here I’ve not encountered far away pulls but the mobs get mega confused in the later dungeon often for some reason sometimes running backwards and standing still
I thought that might be the culprit as well, but do the Smolderthorn Trolls also have something like that? In my last LBRS run I LoS pulled a pack of them outside and about 15-20 secs later an extra pack inside the room pulled and for some reason that extra pack pulling also brought a pack on the other side of the room with it. Myself and the Mage in our group both saw it happen were like WTF.
I’m just trying to figure out if I’m doing something wrong here. It rarely causes a wipe when it happens, but I’d rather my groups never wipe if I can help it.
EDIT: And you’d think by me writing this thread that it happens to me all the time, but out of the almost 10 runs I’ve done I’ve only seen that happen once. I might see something weird once every other run, so it’s not that common, but definitely common enough to make me scratch my head from time to time.
I could be misremembering but I thought there was a thread here a while ago talking about critters causing it. They would get into combat from a shout or non damaging attack and flee into another another pack and pull.
There maybe a thread in the bug reports.
Ok see, when I was originally writing this thread, I was going to ask if critters might be the cause. I’ll check out the bug reports thread because I’m fairly sure there’s something weird going on with critters being able to pull mobs on occasion.

No I’ve definitely seen the behavior you’re describing, both the LoS (pull by the first rope bridge, where casters sort of LoS themselves in a circle instead of coming behind the pillar), and also the whole room aggroing.
For the second item, its occured primarily near that rope bridge (where there are no warmonger spawns), and the last room before crossing the bridge to Overlord Wyrmthalak (where there are warmongers), so I’m not 100% positive what the trigger is exactly.
It’s never happened to me in UBRS though (and I’ve done the place 72 times). There, if something else pulls, it’s almost always because someone was being dumb.
I’ve seen it in BRD a few times. What makes is even more odd is when I’m doing stealth pickpocket runs, not in combat and a group of 5-6 mobs comes running at me knocks me out of stealth and kills me. Figure that one out.
the pathing was always weird. you can see it when warriors charge the rune rooms in the first part of ubrs. they run like a “d” shaped path into the room.
This and if you stood by back gate same thing would happen.
Yes this has happened to me in LBRS a few times. I believe it is the critter bug. After my party took precautions to kill all critters we stopped aggroing far away packs.
Located by the smell. Take a shower.
