Mob armor values incorrect?

There appears to be some discussions going around that the reason physical dps are doing so much damage currently is because mob values are incorrect at the moment causing warriors and rogues to be doing more damage than they should be.

If this is intentional great but otherwise maybe this should be looked into and corrected because its just going to result in people stacking warriors in raid and be classic all over again.

Someone already created a thread in the TBC bug forum but wanted to get more visibility on this.

Regardless of balance, feels bad for sunder and expose to do absolutely nothing. And the armour pen stat doesn’t work.

Yeah considering the whole reason hunter farms their beastlord set for the armor penetration is basically useless and our BIS would change.

Going to be funny the first week of raiding when all the melee/physical classes are dumping on the casters with logs to showcase that.

Please fix this so we don’t get warrior stacking again.

Please nerf melee they deserve it.

Even if the armor values are wrong, Warlocks and Hunters are still better than Warriors and Warrior also needs an Enhancement Shaman at the very least to do good damage so.

TBC is the one expansion hunters get to actually be good at. This undermines our beastlord set and brings competition that we shouldn’t have.

Is this not easily testable by applying sunder/ea/faerie fire to mobs and testing the before/after damage of auto attacks/abilities? I’m not at home or I’d take a look myself.

Can confirm.

Yes, there is a bug causing enemy armor to not work as intended and yes, we’re fixing it very soon.

We already have a fix in flight, and it should clear up the bug the very next time we do realm restarts.

And the fix will appear in our hotfixes update thereafter.

In all seriousness, 2-3 shotting levelling mobs felt good but didn’t seem very fair.

Since we’ve got your attention, can you speak to the overpopulation issue we’re seeing? Is layering triggering as expected? When everything in a zone on a layer is dead like it is, players should be splitting off automatically to new layers so that tasks are achievable in a reasonable amount of time. Thanks!

Also can you fix dreamstate and the elemental shaman equivalent not working?

A bit unfortunate tbh I thought it was mostly fine truth be told. Enemy armor in Heroics was still reducing damage by ~50%

Layering def got messed up somehow recently.

It was nice actually dealing damage as a prot paladin in the open world.

Hopefully my threat won’t disappear because of this.

Any other adjustments being made to compensate for this? The state of heroic dungeons right now with that bug is pretty rough, i can’t imagine how much worse its gonna be when mobs start taking way less damage.
