Venruki is spot on about this topic. R1 at 2200 is just dumb. Blizz have said there is no mmr cap well then perhaps they can explain why RSS (a very popular game-mode) has r1 at 2200.
Yep, my 10000000th post about this topic… BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD etc is the best way to fix this problem. During the interview they said they wanted to try new things with mmr and rewards, it is not working.
Fix it already. Implement a better mmr system. Take inspiration from OW/SC2/LOL.
They want you to try the future of PvP which is RBG Blitz. The AWC will be cancelled and the BWC will take it’s place. It’s time to look to the future and grow PvP finally in this game with new exciting formats.
MMR # vs saying you are gold in League. Gold used to be like the top 10% of players. This manifests itself differently in WoW, because probably like 70% of the players would barely engage in PvP or would do so very sparingly, where in league its the entire game.
Whatever your preferred system is getting soft locked past 1500 earning 7 points a game is not it lol. It’s crazy you can be 20-0 in blitz and I imagine you would be in the 1700s due to the caps.
You are mistaken. I am the ambassador for removing the antiquated failed Arena format that has never panned out in this game. RBG Blitz is the future of PvP and is MMO PvP. Arena never worked for this genre and now Blizz is finally starting to realize it should of been changed a long time ago.
The best thing Blizz can do is cancel the failed AWC for the BWC (Blitz World Championships) then retire the Arena format and completely redesign a new format in it’s place. It’s time to look to the future of PvP.
If Blizz wants to attract PvP players from other games or have a watchable PvP product they need a new format like Blitz. One that is objective based and can compete with League and other PvP games.
Blizz is just starting to listen to players like me for once and now PvP can be saved.

The difference in brackets that people are seeing right now is literally just the MMR difference caused by people pressing Q and there being immensely more people on the ladder.

You are correct. While there is no real cap on MMR there must be some tweaking which results in what people think is a cap. This is what I mean when I say MMR is capped. Something has changed in the algorithm leading to r1 players being 2200.
