Not sure how much you know about DAOC but…
I was on a Lurikeen Ranger and decided to check out the Keep in the mid 30’s bracket. I get there and it’s owned by Hibernia. But…theres a group of MIddies trying to take it. I spend the next hour harassing the heck outta them and preventing them from dropping the last keep door with help of the guards. They come back in force again and once again I manage to prevent them form taking the keep. They gave up the second time.
I had 2 fellow guildies who were husband and wife. They played Lurikeen Rangers too and they would snipe someone, then one would run around a big tree with an enemy in pursuit while the other spouse would snipe them with arrows. When the enemy would chase after that one, then that spouse would proceed to run around their tree while the other spouse started sniping. It was quite comical to watch
EverQuest - Rathe server. Iksar Beastlord named Ukyn and Drakkin Paladin named Dragonpally

Good ole 70’s. I started my “multiplayer experience” playing Starfleet Battles, Car Wars and DnD. I still own ALL the books and SSD to Starfleet Battles (have them preserved in my Star Trek Collection)
man right, it was so fun participating in the wars they would have, I made an SD bomber just to PK man, it’s the best.

Good times man, good times, yeah trapping botters and players was the best

I’m not sure this is the thread to do it in, don’t want to derail the original poster

Dungeons and Dragons. 1978. Kitchen Table. Ocean Isle Beach NC.
I played Final Fantasy XI for a few weeks but I quickly moved on to WoW in 2005 since it felt more respectful of my time and it was the game everyone was migrating to anyway.
If we get to count D&D, then I’m in on that one as well, about the same time.

Do old MUDD’s count? If so then, EOTL or “End of the Line” Hosted by Stanford was my favorite. Text only multi-user platforming ftw. See, I think that was around 1992 ish Darkwind was another cool one, or even 3kingdoms.
Asheron’s Call in 98/99 for me, piddled a little in DAoC, and then Wow since vanilla

EQ1 1999, played until EQ2 hit, then less than a month after that played WoW on day 1 and never put it down.
Ultima Online in 1998, Catskills. Lots of fun, way too much toxicity there but that’s due to its newness. Too many good memories, I still have friends from that time.
My first game played online was rats, when i was in the military 1974. The first MMO was WOW in 2004 ,. Since then Star Wars , Final Fantasy, and Rift. But WOW has been my main MMO.

Eek.
If they were to put in camp spawns like EQ had, this new generation’s gamer would have their head implode.
74 hours camping Raster in Guk.
78 hours camping the other guy in Sebilis was it?
The Monk pinwheels were hell to get.
That’s not saying any camp times for my Rogue, Shaman, Ranger or Shadowknight I played.
Hells, my Rogue’s /played time was over 600 actual days just by himself.
Never again camping spawns…
Ohh it got way worse than that when Pandemonium started a cross faction guild. So you would start a skirmish and someone that you literally can’t attack because they are on your faction started healing them. That is when i left EQ for WoW.
Also my first MMO was Major Mud in 1994 (yes, im old.
