Tomorrow is last day. I said if there was a nerf I’d resub.
Not sure how much that nerf will really help because the math behind mastery and sniper shot is not common knowledge. I’d love to see actual hard numbers. For all I know it could equate to a 3% damage nerf…

Yea, I hate vague nerfs like that without more context.
Almost seems like they are trollign us.
“See, we are listening. The nerfs came just like you guys wanted.”
But in the end the nerf is so minimal you’ll wonder if it was left out of the patch LOL.
I suspect that the way some of the damage modifier calculations are done are actually mathematically broken in their code.
That said, mastery is a HUGE increase in damage for MM hunters. For example, with 32% mastery my damage is increased by 72%. Removing that from sniper shot should cut down it’s damage by a lot.
THAT SAID, since the buff to rapid fire and aimed shot the damage from sniper shot has already taken a backseat and it is the range that is the most useful part of it. MM will still be doing damage from far range with this nerf, but it is better at least.
It will probably make it a “don’t take” talent in arena, though.
Just for the record, I have been calling for nerfs to sniper shot range and it’s stat scaling on these forums SINCE SEASON ONE of this expansion. It’s good to see that Blizzard has finally started to identify the correct issues. Maybe they should hire me.

I don’t use sniper shot at all. It takes too long to cast anyway, so it’s useless when I have to keep moving.

Yea, that nerf was definitely not enough for me to start playing my enhance again.
Hunters were the number one reason I shelved him (and primordial wave).

About a 40% reduction in sniper shot damage around 65% mastery.
MM still gonna absolutely trash BGs, but anything is better than crawling.
Damage is fine if players can swap cds. Every class has that ability. Hunters don’t allow that from stealth so nerfing big dam out of stealth is good and fair. I can’t believe blizz let this go on for so long….i also still can’t believe it’s not butter!
Hunters can still pump in random bgs without sniper shot thanks to rapid fire and aimed shots buffs. Never liked using snipershot, cast too long, drains too much focus, and other damage from empowered arcane shots or even just prioritizing aimed shot over Sniper shot was is much better.
As a Strictly BM Hunter Im SO HAPPY about this im even tired of every noob playing a no talent class like MM atm. Monks need a hard nurf too
If that’s the only MM changes I don’t have to change specs yet. SS is already weak, the range decrease is a mild change. Rapid Fire and True Shot Aura Aimed Shots are what gets kills now
Like this change. Sniper Shot’s a bit of a meme ability, far less useful than some of the forums seem to think.
Good excuse to finally drop it and play around with other talents.
