MM hunter - how low is too low for haste?

My haste is sitting at 14% right now, wondering if thats an ok spot or if it’s dropped too low (ik my mastery is low, working on that)

edit: armory isn’t updated and dont mention missing gems/enchants, just doing chores

12% is ideal. I run 9% and toss soleah on haste stacking person

In keys, lower haste sims better, but faster haste lets you get more aimed shots off without getting hit with stuff. So your haste is probably fine, it could go lower if you plan where to stand a little better, and it could go higher at the expense of some damage for more mobility.

33 haste MM Venth is the absolute nuts in PVP. Prob go like big mastery/crit for other covenants though with a GCD bump of 11 percent.

i prefer mastery/crit to blow people up in the opener.

Oof. 14% is high. 7-9% is my recommendation. You’re going to need to put your weight on in crit, msty, or vers. Haste is a featherweight stat anyway you slice it…

Ty all. I knew haste was bottom of prio but I didn’t know how low to go before I went too far lol
Working on more mast, have some items to upgrade and hopefully vault stops giving me gear for leggo/max ilvl tier slots :frowning:

I went by Icy Veins’ recommendation. I can say that any number close to zero would be bad though.

at 4% haste, my Aimed Shot cast time is 2.4 secs, recharge is 12 secs, GCD is 1.44 and focus regen is 5.2 per sec.
8% haste, AIS cast is 2.3 secs, 11 sec recharge, gcd is 1.39, Focus regen=5.4 per sec.
12% haste, AIS cast is 2.2 secs, 11sec recharge, GCD=1.34 secs, Focus regen=5.6 per sec
16% haste, AIS cast=2.2 secs, 10sec recharge, GCD=1.29, Focus regen=5.8 per sec.
19.25% haste, AIS cast=2.1 secs, 10 sec recharge, GCD=1.26 secs, Focus regen= 6.0 per sec
EDIT If I select and use the Talent Steady Focus, I can add 7% Haste to what I already have, so;
19.25 haste + 7% haste = 27.5% Haste (according to the UI)
27.5 Haste, AIS cast is 2.0 sec, recharge is 9.4 sec, GCD is 1.16 sec, Focus regen is 6.4 per sec.
Just to say; Steady Shot cast time is 1.5 sec with 19% haste, 1.4 sec with 27%.
Finally, with NO haste, my Aimed Shot casts are 2.5 secs, recharge is 12secs, GCD is 1.5 secs, Focus regen is 5.0 per sec.
These are actual, real-time numbers.

I’m glad you found this out. EMBARRASSING how little benefit for how great a loss, but I’m confident that Blizz made it that way for a reason. One of the best changes that reflects this is the change to Trueshot after 8.0. It used to buff your Haste by 30% but they realize that a flat faster cast rate of AShot and recharge rate of that and RFire was better.

Back in BFA Haste was somewhat needed because of procs. The faster you could cast stuff on the GCD the better you could streamline procs. Visions of Perfection was the most important proc I can recall because you could crank out more casts. When all that went away, I praised Blizz because I could dump haste and stack Vers along with Msty to get the best damage and some survivability.

It would be nice to see Haste benefit Hunters a little bit better, but I’m looking at Vers a lot harder.

unless i missed it the real answer nobody here is giving you cuz they are trying to sound smart or copy paste a guide is to sim yourself. Sim is always the answer

Haste for MM is more of a “feel” than a “certain value is required”.

The higher the amount the more damage you lose, the lower the amount the longer you need to stand still and possibly lose aimed shots by needing to move.

I’ve tried it at both ends, I went high when 4set was obtained as it pushes a large amount of damage into aimed shot which = equals more time standing still. The mindset was more aimed shots, the more damage but it actually went the other way due to the crit/mastery lost. Low is the way to go.

Low haste means you need to plan well to “buy time” to get the aimed shots off, but it pays off as its much more damage. If you’re new to MM then a little more haste will help, but if you’re experienced then something around 6-8% is win.
