As unbelievably frustrating this policy is for Classic WoW accounts, I’ve come to the understanding that there’s nothing I can do about it.
I resub’d after almost 10 years away from the game, and have had a battle.net account since 2002.
I returned to play with my best friend, whom him and I go hard. We like to min/ max and part of this is making as much money as possible.
I can live without the AH and trading for 26 more days but it’s unreasonable that I couldn’t send mail to my alts. This is a huge disadvantage to skilled players. I could understand that a brand new player might not need or know to do this, but, maxing professions across multiple alts is so beneficial. Having to wait 26 days is gut wrenching. To the point my desire to play has gone from constant to none at all.
I was SOOOOO excited to come back to WoW classic. I promised myself I would never play wow again but my buddy convinced me when he explained how nostalgic and fun the true classic experience was. We talked for hours and enjoyed discussing our paths.
My suggestion (which it’s probably already been mentioned) is to at least allow players to mail items and money to alt characters on their own account.
The problem with this suggestion/mitigation is that bots can then continue botting on the same toon, instead of having to bot on every other toon when their bags got full.
But as Darth said, suggestions may be done ingame or on another forum. You may move it with the pencil in your opening post.
I understand why they put that restriction in place, but I don’t like it either.
Is it true you can’t trade conjured water/food for that time too? I did Deadmines the other day on Era and our mage said that he wasn’t able to trade conjured water and that his account was new.
I don’t know if I’ve ever started a new character and waited 26 days to buy or sell an auction, so blocking brand new accounts from that seems a little extreme.
Can you and your friend just trade items back and forth to each other’s alts for a few weeks until the mail works for you? At least you know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Is there no way to mitigate this? I was under the impression that you could do something, like purchasing something through the online store, as a work-around.
I could be wrong, but it might be nice to know if anyone knows of a workaround. Also, is this for all of WoW or just certain versions?
Note that I am asking if it is, not stating that it is. I thought there was something similar years ago that worked like that. Perhaps someone else can comment with some confirmation links.
SoD has its own forums, so I’d assume this is a WoW Classic thing, if not a general WoW thing.
I made a new account some time during BFA, and I feel as though there was something similar that I was able to work around by purchasing a WoW token on the account or something similar, through the bnet store.
It was a while ago, and I could be misremembering and it’s quite possible that that has nothing to do with what people are currently experiencing on new accounts, though it seems like it’s the same idea.
Ohhhhh that is really new! Ok, makes sense and why I haven’t seen it. Seems like a way to slow botters down a little. Certainly will not stop em, but slow the it will
