Sadly, I don’t think they’ll ever give us anything like the playstyle a lot of us fell in love with.
They carved out the parts that did work and distributed them to healers that were missing something to feel solid, and the design we’re left with feels like a laughable shadow that doesn’t feel great.
Look at the stats we value most. Crit and Vers. Some classes value crit highly because of how crits interact with their playstyle, we don’t, it’s simply just better throughput. Vers is a stat that Blizzard has previously stated is a supplementing stat and shouldn’t find its way to top value for anyone.
I love this class thematically. I can see where Blizzard figured out the direction players took the class wasn’t where they wanted to go, but the resulting rework has left the spec feeling fundamentally >wrong<, and is commonly abandoned in favor of other healers to main.
I’d like to comment that we’ll hopefully receive another much-needed rework, but this coming expansions level of development engagement on the forums (where they actively request feedback) has taken any hope of that from me.
At this point, I think my argument for a red-mist quest similar to the green-fire warlock quest is more likely.
