Anyone have some good weakauras to share?
Theres one available on wowhead for Jade Statue Soothing Mist which is okay… I had to tweak it a little bit.
Really interested if anyone has made a WA for Gusts of Mists procs for Soothing Mist – like something that I can look at while I channel soothing mist so I can try to hold it until the first Gust proc and then switch targets.
Also curious if there are any other WA’s you guys like?
I use the Luxthos ‘hud’ for most classes I play - including MW
I will add others as required, so I have the ATotM buff tracker with a timer on it, I also used to have essence tracking ones in BfA, artifact ones in Legion (if I’m remembering correctly), etc.
Hmm, that is more specific than what I typically use… I don’t think his have a gusts tracker
I pretty sure its random per 8 ticks (or how ever many is a full channel) so you can’t game it the way you want to. The Counter isn’t reset until 8 ticks have passed, the only way to know which tick its on is if you always full channel the spell and you get 7 ticks in a row where you don’t get a proc.
So you’re saying that if I channel Soothing Mist and get my Gust of Mists on the 2nd tick, that if I immediately recast Soothing Mist, the first 6 ticks of the second soothing will never have a gust of mists? I.e. are the “decks of cards” between each SooM probability-dependent?
Or is it if I channel and get it on the second tick, then immediately recast, there’s an independent chance that I can get it on the second tick again? I.e. are the “decks of cards” between each SooM probability-independent?
I made a WA but need to refine it because it’s a little buggy. It’s a channel bar that has an icon which glows as soon as the Gust proc occurs.
But basically there is some amount of time, which I haven’t calculated, that you should try to fish for a gust proc (perhaps 3 ticks) while channeling SooM before you stop casting (especially if essence Font is active). For an arbitrary example, if you were to analyze the HPS per mana of the first 3 seconds of SooM… it’s normally pretty low, but if you get a Gust Proc, then it will have a much higher HPS per man. With EF active, even higher.

Lame. That just means that I wont be able to manipulate probability to get MORE gusts of mists procs than normal. But, its still reliably gimmickable though, just need some LUA code in the WA. Basically you could make a WA Icon that glows when there is 3 or less “cards in the deck” without a Gust proc. When you see that glow, it would be a really efficient heal to just channel SooM for 3 seconds because you know there will be a Gust of Mists. Even better if you use it on an essence font target.
I need to update this but this is one I slapped together at the beginning of the xpac to sit on top of my group frames. Tracks a lot of different things, like Renewing Mist duration and count, etc.
