Is mistweaver monk ever going to be good in dungeons? I can’t remember mw being a good m+ spec in all of SL and DF. And I wish it was good because a skilled mw is so convenient to have in your group. When was the last time mw was meta in keys, bfa season 1?
It is time for Mistweaver Monk to have a turn as a good key healer again.
Edit: I am talking about 5-player dungeons only, thank you.
Not true at all lol They have definitely had time in the spotlight.
They are a lot like druid though. They tend to shine better in raid. They are really great blanket healers.
People also underestimate them. They are a lot like Disc Priest’s too. They are a sudo damage dealer.
So if you don’t need a ton of healing in the content you are doing, they are excellent for bringing extra blanket damage.
On Hpal I can do like 30k dps tops even on trash packs, monks do way more than me in that department. However I can burst heal way better than they can.
Until we get some proper utility probably not no doesn’t help quite a few of the dungeons this season aren’t exactly melee friendly.
Like Monks badly need attention if we’re ever going to be competitive but at this point doubt that’s gonna happen too busy reworking Warlocks who unlike Monks didn’t need a rework.
They haven’t been meta in SL S1, SL S2, SL S3, SL S4, BFA S4 as far as I remember. Did not play the other ones. I am told from my favorite healer that mw was super nerfed in BFA s2. I would like them to get something nice for once, it’s their turn.
In M+ it was very strong throughout early-mid BFA, and in raid it was excellent in SoD and might’ve been the most broken healer ever with Haste Corruption stacking at one point in Ny’alotha/8.3 (it was so broken, in fact, that they completely gutted Rising Mist because it was solo healing 5-heal fights).
It was just being celebrated as “dead” in Solo Shuffle recently due to some changes, and it makes me sad because PvP was all Mistweaver really excelled at, lmao.
Obviously an over-exaggeration, but Mistweaver has been the go-to meta healer since DF released, along with Evokers.
They are still very strong, just the knee-jerk reactions to the hardcore meta that’s going on right now. I always see spots specifically for them in Rated Battlegrounds.
That had a small time in the sun where through combat you could keep up Mist on everyone. Felt like an amazing playstyle since it matched the theme well. Unfortunately it only got 4 weeks in the sun. Doubt they will make it high m+ tier ever again. They have it pocketed away as a strong raid healer.
as someone who started healing back in legion… i believe your incorrect about that. legion mw monk, was the best healing class/spec i have ever experienced in this game. it was so, frikkin, easy, i’d describe it as a lazy-healer. most dungeons the worst thing you’d have to deal with (other than idiots, of course) would be following the group, it was so darn easy.
you’d put a little heal on the tank, then slap a healing ‘leash’ on 'em, and become the dungeon dog-walker since you could move and heal at the same time. your main thing was just buffing your little-heal to be stronger, and it was ridiculously easy. enveloping mist would apply the leash (can’t remember the name of the passive-ability… the stream of mist one), and as i said, you could move while casting it so los was’nt a big issue. plus you have vivify if there was an aoe, essence font for topping up everyone’s health between fights, and coccoon for emergencies.
was it meta? no clue, i did’nt really play other healers that much. was it easy? heck yes. so much so that when they changed mw monk in bfa, it crushed my heart, burned it, and swept the ashes into a dumpster.
…i got off topic, tldr, pretty-sure it was meta back in legion. sorry for goin-off on a tangent.
